DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTION - THE BIAKOYE FALLACY

Democracy has been defined in some circles as government of the people, by the people, for the people. So in every democracy, the key is, 'the people' Any leader from bottom-up and up-bottom who does not consider the people; their plight, their cry, their wishes, their joy, their happiness and all, is a failure from scratch. It has been sang is some reggae circles as well that, you can fool all the people sometimes, you can fool some people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time. The people are advised to get up and fight for their rights and when they do, the crazy 'bald' heads run out the town. It doesn't matter if I am physically bald headed or even that crazy bald head, the rights of the people will show. A revolution (from the Latin revolutio: "a turn around") is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time. Aristotle described two types of political revolution: Complete change from one constitution to another, Modification of an existing constitution. Theorists saw the development of the revolutions as a two-step process; first, some change results in the present situation being different from the past; second, the new situation creates an opportunity for a revolution to occur. In that situation, an event that in the past would not be sufficient to cause a revolution (ex. a war, a riot, a bad harvest), now is sufficient – however if authorities are aware of the danger, they can still prevent a revolution (through reform or repression) It is based on the argument of these theorists that we attempt to put the past, present and future political deceptions in Biakoye into perspective. Revolutions in the recent past occurred through bloody military take overs, youth and mass riots and bad harvest. Today's revolution is democratic, silent, thumb based and unsuspecting. It does not require spiritualism nor impersonation and fraud. It only requires the vigilance of the people and the wisdom of the few vigilant to alert the others. Coming events cast their shadows and when they do, authorities have to institute measures that will prevent revolution. Reform to address the needs of the people and to make available to the masses minimum satisfaction is the way to go. In the past, repression worked because the revolution was violent. Why it is not appropriate now? Because, it is civil, undisclosed and irresistible. I have been following the Biakoye Constituency NDC branch election from afar win keen interest as an interested party and it is uninteresting the machinations and schemes some try to use to retain, maintain or gain power. Thankfully, the days when some persons were called from their bedrooms and kitchens to assume positions are over. Those with interest and ability are contesting for their positions. The days of names change and replacement are under control. The fifty two names that were replaced in 2012 as a result of the criminal break into the late J. J. K's office after his demise, should never be repeated. Even in the days of violent revolution, there were types. When the May 15 1979 coup d'etat by J.J. Rawlings failed, he was in jail when another was staged in his name on June 4 1979. This is to say that, the machinations can at best inure to the benefit of its propagators at the party primaries. What next after the primaries? Will it be used on all the constituents too? I pray it does not get to the point where politics is regarded as a dirty game, since it is a field for clean citizens ready to serve their nation some more. I never thought in Biakoye that there will ever be a time when some names will not be part of the branch executives because such were the big names. Wonders; they say will never end. I never also felt that a day will come when some persons have to refuse to invite other party members to keep their seats. 'when it is coming, it is doing' Destruction for positions is becoming the preserve of some persons in the constituency. Boomerang effect is the guide. As you throw filth, expect same. For every action, there is equal and opposite reaction; says science. Bible puts it rather nicely in asking us to be our brother's keepers; do unto others as you will, they do unto you. My God father was DCE for eight years under former Prez. J. J. but could not boast of even a block but by 'mere' sale of his books, he is a real man. If he had destroyed someone in order to serve Ghana, he would have been a miserable man. Good people can do politics and they in fact do politics. Do not let us live in this fallacy that, politics is a dirty game and only the witty can win. It is service to our nation and people. Let us do it well, for the people know what they want. Allow them to make their choices.

MARTIN KWAKYE.....P.O.BOX 14.....TAPA ABOTOASE

Using 1996 tactics to solve the problems of 2013 is a decision not to resolve the problems at all. The problems of today are more sophisticated, compounded but has immediate resolution tricks. In 1996, it was easy for decisions that affect a group of people to be taken by only a few persons from within or outside the group. This was because, mostly, information accessibility, area accessibility and education were all defficient. Today, the story is different. I wish to say a prayer for Biakoye before I continue with my piece....Lord my God, have mercy on my only district; Biakoye District and bless the people therein, dear God, you said we should pray for our enemies but Lord, we can only pray for faced enemies to repent and not unfaces ones like, voiceof Tapa and Martin Kwakye of Box 14, Tapa Abotoase...my God, these so called patriots do not deserve to live....it is not for me to judge but....cowards can only die before the time you gave them. As I write this letter to Martin and copy to Voiceof Tapa, God, send your most wicked angel upon them with fire, with supply of gas from Seppah Yankey's Ghana gas....In th absence of such insane and wicked characters, Biakoye will be a better place for your children. AMEN. KWAME DENNIS SON OF KWABENA BOYE GRANDSON OF OPANYIN KWABENA KUMAH HSE NUMB: B19/2 TAPA AMANYA MARTIN KWAKYE BETTER BIAKOYE GROUP P. O. BOX 14 TAPA ABOTOASE cc: VOICEOF TAPA FACEBOOK..... Dear friends, brothers or whoever you are, Its been said over and over again that, politicians do not respond to emptiness and share insanity but sometimes, it is good to move away from politics to defend the good name that our forefathers and fathers struggled to acquire. If my grandfather had believed in anonimity, wickedness and destructive tendencies in the name of politics, he would not have lived as long as he did, imbibing in us the strength to face the world without hiding behind others. I sobbed when I read the first piece of Voiceof Tapa, why? how can a faceless coward be the voice of homeland of brave and courageous men? Where we have children and real decendants of Kwasi Kumah and Nana Sasu.....well educated and cultured enough to face challenges of the world. No wonder till date, nobody has owned out as that so called voiceof tapa. In fact, what wiped my tears then was the thunderous response from real men and women of Tapa on facebook where n(s)he showed off. Gabasa, Appiah, Kobra...kudos. Just as we were getting over that, another faceless coward in the name of Martin Kwakye pops up with an anonimous letter against the DCE. Tapa does not belong there because we do not believe in anonimity. When the late Kofi Appiah (may his soul rest in peace) wanted power, he came out boldly to contest. When I wanted power, I also did not hide behind anybody to lie about people...I launched and kept a good campaign....with all the mischief, tricks and dirty campaign, the results was good. That is what Tapa stands for...good people, good neighbours, good challengers. Why use Tapa when you know pretty well that you are not from Tapa? This letter you wrote could not have been written by someone sitting on the fence somewhere in Abotoase. THIS IS AN INSIDER'S LETTER. Martin, how did you get the figures you used? How did you know about the night accidents? How did you know about the conversation between the DCE and DCD? Insider, inpersonator, criminal....Today, the principles of natural justice require that, the DCE is given the opportunity to respond to any allegations made against him. The question is, who are you? How do you substantiate the allegations when you are hiding behind p.o.box 14? You are not ready for the removal of the DCE for you because you do not deserve to be what you are seeking. How can you seek to be a DCE through such fraud? Biakoye deserves better. After my prayer to God to do away with you completely, I pray that you come out to respond and show your face. Hmmmmmm, brothers, you remember what happened to our brother Yaw Mekoe? We nearly mistook him for voiceof tapa ooo. But Yaw, you have since not called me, why? I pray you are also not behind voiceof Tapa. Such filth is not good for your image. Before I say good bye, there is a paragraph in the letter against the DCE that sought to say that, some party gurus, the constituency chairman and dce are sabotaging work in the district because their choice of parliamentary candidate did not win. This is irresponsible, irrelevant for the cause he sought. All the same, for the sake of the people of Biakoye, I will end this solemn prayer to God, Martin Kwakye and Voiceof Tapa who per my assessment do not come from Tapa....using the name of Tapa for the selfish and myopic political ambitions. Strong though...the mildest in defence of Tapa and Biakoye.....Good people say AMEN.

I WILL WRITE WITH CAUTION

I have learnt a few things from my writing about people the way i do. I have realized especially in my last piece that, when you have a good relationship with someone and you write 'ill' about him or her, responding in like manner becomes problematic. They wish you were not their friend so they could deal with you. In my last piece, i resorted to pairings, insinuations, names calling and revelations. The parts that hurt most from my checks were the revelations and insinuations. The last two were taken in the words of Sir John, JM aka, Nkomode. Thanks friends. You remember that piece called, DEAR JOHN? Yea, the one about a John with a key quality; kindness. He happens to be my host from April 12 to 14 in Tamale. I love that man for another thing; he does not fear what i can do on a market day. Market days are the busiest day at my village - Tapa Abotoase. Those are the days people come to town from far and near. Those are the days of noise making, fighting, love proposals, rivalry, stealing and age old barter trading. It is one these days that, the queenmother is likely to come out to sell, the chief is likely to drive his trotro and the chief inspector is likely to be arrested as a pick pocket. Market days are full of surprises. On July 7, 2007, I was the Bestman for Ato at his wedding with Dr. Adesope, a gesture the groom was uncomfortable with. He told his will-be wife, 'this best man you are opting for, do you know what he can do on a market day?' The bride insisted I should be and I was. Funnily, the man ensured the best man was not the one to propose the toast; in his words, ' dump best man' God works in mysterious ways; at the time for proposal of toast, the man billed to do so had responded to a call. Could it be nature's call? I had to fill that yawning gap. It was a market day, field day, revelation day, free speech day. John who swore to reply my write up stopped because he felt I should be forgiven as part of the kind(ness) gesture. I wonder if he remembers that he just let me go. Remember Kombien? He had to be rearrested and imprisoned to stop him from his acts. 13-04-2013 is a market day at Tamale and I am suppose to be the supervisor of the afternoon/evening market - can you imagine his brevity? Anyway, I will report cautiously what I do, see, hear, say, taste, feel and experience. In fact, I will simply caption it, 'JOHN'S KINDNESS' All the best. Let me on this note and in the spirit of friendship state that, my last piece was not meant to defame any friend or person, known or unknown. If it did intentionally or unintentionally cause any friend or enemy any inconvenience, I apologize for my lack of caution in writing. I promise in high esteem to write in recent times with caution. If it has to do with religion or politics, I will stay away. Good Day friend. In the spirit of same caution, I will not edit this piece. Notify me when you find any error, including, 'am' for I'm, towro for towel and chingun for chewing gum.

SAMMY & RHODA

I have been thinking based on irrelevance, irresponsibility and idleness. It is really true they say; 'the devil finds work for the idle hand' Who said it is only idle hands? Idle brains are most engaged with evil and malice. Day-in-day-out, we learn new things and will never stop. I interacted with a level 100 law student and her reason for not attending the beach party was because, 'the music they play at such places is of the world' I looked at her for a while....'wo be nyini abeto' and asked her to get real. Could it be that, this idle thought contributes to my inability to perform in some demanding fields? I am good in some field but everyone has some shortfall. I have been thinking, I may be wrong, imagine O.T going out with Lulu and not Jemima. Is there something they already share? No malice. Another wild imagination, Selali going out with....Martha and not Nissirine as I hear, oh no...as I sense, no....as I think, no....as I believe, No. I am not quite sure what it is. But looking at it from afar, I see their offspring; S&M not S&N ooo, doing all the adverts for plump babies. This is just a joke. Please DO NOT tell Mr. Baah I suggested this one. I suffered behind the counter only some few weeks ago. Imagine this policeman and Bernice my sweetheart. This is pure mmoguo. What happened at Prampram? I was not there but I was. Hmmmm, I am not a gossip but.... Someone asked me this simple question, please it is not my question. Abusua and Jerry were both there when the person asked this question. Before I say it let me ask my own question first; who will you vote for? Abusua or Jerry? Just whisper it. I know why... I am not talking about that....ok later. The question the person asked; will your ladies also were short dresses next year? My answer was not simple, it was a story. At the launch of the Hall Week, level 300s bought a copy of the students' journal at Ghs 300.00 thinking level 400 will live up to their level but, it was disappointing. We as in Abusua, Jerry and myself concluded that, it is their character to refuse to act in full. Finally,we agreed that, they wear it short in order to cut down on...not material but cost. This kind of deviation will surely not give an A in any serious exams. Now my topic; can you imagine a man, as tall and dark in complexion as Sammy going out with a lady as tall and fair in complexion as Rhoda? I have not said I suspect them nor seen them. I didn't say I met them. This cctv idea is good for us all but like fire, like water, like gun and like knife; it is a good servant and a bad master. Digidi Sammy! I have made a lot of suggestions and still watching the class. The latter is the pair of the year, to look out for. My shock should not be your shock. I have informed you. More before, in and behind the camera. Happy Easter.

A LITTLE FLY TORMENTED MY SOUL

I forgot the lyrics of the only reggae song I learnt until Monday when this little boy of a Policeman arrested me for an offence I could swear I did not commit. "If you are the big tree, I am the small axe.." Bob Marley said so. To bring you to scratch on the whole matter, let me attempt to narrate my side of the story to you and give you direction to Accra Central MTTU to seek the versions of Inspector Nyarko and Constable Adarkwa. My arrest also gave me some new lessons on the individual differences principle. At least, I do perfectly understand that, the eight months or so training of the policeman is inadequate to change the twenty plus years of bad or good training from home/house. Good human relations displayed by Constable Dramani took away the anger and pain of arrest. He and the others in his office, treated myself and the other drivers I met 'well' unlike the two who arrested me. I was driving on one of the busiest streets of Accra that faithful Monday morning when I stopped to buy porridge ( Clear response to nature's call). After buying, I drove for about fifty meters and joined the traffic. In any case, that road has been expanded enough to take two lanes and as I write, road markings are ongoing. About hundred meters after joining the traffic, I was stopped by Adarkwa, a police constable. I stopped respectfully, he asked for my license and I obliged. He the accused me of driving on the shoulders of the road; I was shocked but kept my cool. I organized myself and tried an explanation but this young 'arrogant' policeman will not even stop to listen to me. He wrote on a piece of police chit and put into my hand and left. A phone number was written behind this paper but all calls to the line were never answered. At noon, I reported to the station. Thankfully, the first person I met was Adarkwa. I greeted and introduced myself as his 'arrestee'. He asked me to go see Ins. Nyako, whilst going, he followed me and overtook me when I stopped to speak to a known senior officer. He went ahead of me and shouted at me to follow him. When I got to him finally, I asked him to exercise patience and this statement was enough to make him angry to the extent of talking on top of his voice. I told him that my advice is because he 'maltreated' me at the point of arrest and was continuing. He took offence, reported same to Nyarko who also, surprisingly, without asking me why, took offence and asked if I did not commit the offence to which I said no. He hurriedly reported me to his superior for being difficult and put me behind the counter for over three hours. Dramani came for me later on, took my statement, interacted with me and asked that I report in three days time. The superior officer I met earlier met me again and requested that we spoke to Nyarko and Adarkwa. It took the heart of God and the gods of the land to stand these two unprofessional men. Insults, insinuations, castigation...Oh my GOD! I walk away quietly thinking that, if I had fasted that morning, that would not have happened. I reported the third day ready to be taken to court as was promised but thankfully, Dramani handed my license to me without demanding a dime from me. I believe strongly that, our roads need to be safe. I also believe that the police must check all road users. I also believe that in checking road users, the police will not always get it all right but the users must be handled well irrespective of the offences committed. Nobody is above the law; true. Nobody should suffer for committing no offence.

DEAR JOHN

John! I am not referring to John the Baptist. In fact this John is not related to the numerous John(s) in the Bible. Forgive my choice of words; either mathematical inefficiency or Biblical shortfall. In Ghana, John also means one of two things. Growing up, people were discouraged from naming their children John the same way governments effort to promote batik tie and dye was thwarted with names like, 'adjoa yankee', 'wahyia wonua'; John was given to people who were considered unintelligent. This led to some known John(s) changing their names. We can only thank God only a few remained. The toughest, the fittest and the wisest. Today in Ghana, the second meaning of John is wisdom. At least from 31st December, 1981, no other name has won election apart from John. It started with John jerry rawlings, John kuffuor, John mills and now John mahama. Never mind what some other non John(s) are doing. There is even some rumour that 2016 will see another John competing with a current John. Interesting times ahead. There is an increase in the christening of children in recent times as John and I was nearly a victim of that irresistible temptation. The John I am greeting this evening is none of the above. Did I read on his facebook wall that he will be running for the Presidency soon? These political, public, non-political servants. Hmmmmm! He did not start; someone made the proposal which he also bought into. I wish him all the best. He has what it takes as a person to achieve this dream but he needs to get the people. It is not bad to dream BIG but you need to commit to such dreams to achieve it. John, I made you a promise, to write for you and to hear from you because you have indicated your thirst for my pieces of writing. I have not abandoned this passion. The demand is so high I am unable to satisfy you and others of your stature. What I am able to work at is to recount few events that happen among my mates for the fun of it. This is not the usual must read piece but a request to you. Always give me what you want to read and I will readily be at your service. My Dear Dr. Kanyiri, I have not inboxed this because I want the world to witness my request. I also want the world to be party to your response(s), fall and rise - arranged as should occur and the world should hold us responsible for our individual or mutual irresponsibility. What you have always held in high esteem is your Kindness. I will want you to exhibit the same Kindness everywhere. As I rest my case, I send you greetings from my wallet. I will be pleased if you remain silent on the last paragraph. How is the castle boy doing? Is he also receiving Ghc 4,000.00? Tell him the forms are out so I will be waiting. Eiiii! Did I say all that? Sorry, I should have sent that through your phone. Doctor! Good night.

MERRY CHRISTMAS (An Archived wish)

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you my dear friends, loved ones and opponents including my enemies. The birth of Christ marked the beginning of a new order in religion. It was the start of the 33 years of a pius man's life on earth.

Exactly when and where he was born will be meaningless to our discourse but what I remember is that he was not born at Trassacco valley, neither was he born at the whithouse nor the Flagstaff/Jubilee house. It fits into the local Akan adage, "obi nnim )brempong ashease3" (Nobody knows the beginning of a hero)

It is funny how some politicians consider the electorate as unintelligent and churn out falsehood that is meant to defame and stain contestants forever. I wonder why Osei Kwame Despite is not a Member of Parliament if the only means of going to parliament is money. Why Despite? Because he is popular, well established and generous.

I have no intension of lambasting my party the NDC but where I have to, I will to the benefit of mother Ghana. Fortunately, some issues are not matters for public consumption.

OF CASES, TALKS, GOSSIP AND BIRTHDAYS

Welcome my brothers and sisters from only seven days of self use, misuse, disuse and abuse. Welcome from seven days of inchoate recovery, discovery and 'uncovery'. Hmmmmmmmm! I guess some made a lot of everything from friends, laurels, money, strength, emotions and lovers. Some also made a lot of enemies, clothes, shoes, cash and I have seen some new phones, ipads and laptops. I do not intend to talk about you but forgive me if I end up sharing that secret. It is not even a secret because you told me, Martha and Henry at the phone shop the last time we met. I forgot to hint you that he has already told Nii, Abusua, Gloria and Valerie. Yea, he also told Tina, Shirley and Leslie; I am not saying he is a gossip ooo, he was only telling them how we met at that shop and the story you told us about yourself. I will not tell a lot of people, I will just put it on facebook. Friends, the seven days appeared short to all of us but was full of events. I will just summerise as Nana Oye did in the first six pages of her cv and proceed to expatiate in the rest of the pages as she did in her ....paged cv. I forgot about the stress of the exams after the prayers and settled at C41; Mensah Sabbah Main Hall. The fried yams smelt good so we opted for nothing but pork. The driver of the night: NII, was good (not better because 'good is better than better' Prof Frempong Boateng). We went to Adenta, Lapaz, Cicle then finally Osu but did not get pork so we opted for something else. That is not your business. I told you it is a summary. We got to Okponglo at about 2am only to work as NADMO. Hmmmm, two beautiful girls and a foolish, please do NOT complain about the word, trapped in a mangled taxi. Oh! May their souls rest in peace. Did you also see her dress? The stylish legs with the beads on it? You missed it, bad boy. Bow your head in shame and read Wenkyiwaa v Wireduaa. My room mates and I were on campus for two more days and saw a lot of things. Mmmmmmmm? But for the inability of the rat to pound fufu in its hole, it will enjoy it. Criss-crosses. Eiiii! You too? I met you and ..... see, look at you. I will not say it. Henry will tell them. He was with me when we saw you. Why did you reject my offer to take you out? Is it because my car was dirty that day? Ok, now I have washed it. Let's make else I will tell them where I met you. Why do people wish the downfall of others? I can see my mates reading Hodgson v the Republic, Nyaamah v Amponsah and, and, and many more and you are asking me to tell you stories? You are wicked. No wonder Jerry and Irene were saying it yesterday after lectures. Is it true Matina was angry because it was revealed that, she will give out toffees? Or there was some other reason? Mati! Don't get me wrong oo. Me and you de33333, I heard that guy is gossiping that me koraaa, I am seeing you behind close doors. Like e go beee papa. If so, pene pr3ko. Any way friends, enjoy the weekend. I am going to Akatsi to observe the eleven against zero match. Where is Lorlornyo? I have not seen Mr. Quaye too. Is it true that Nii has been denied access to his own room? Well, I just heard it. These porters are wicked oo. Why did I forget this? Level 300 and 400 men please leave that girl alone. Every guy, Reaches out, Intimacy is, Completely his, Agenda. She is also here to study, read cases, talk law, gossip and celebrate birthdays like my mama. Awake.

EPIPHANY OF EXAMS - UGLR/S1/L100-300

I do not know how this report made its way to your facebook wall or the Notice Board because it was just a 'lazy' student's account of what preparations 'serious' students make to justify their inclusion in a sacrilegious course they wish they had not started. As said in an Akan adage, they can now not stop because, they have started. During my first lecture, I had to go to the washroom to look myself up in the mirror because I felt I was at the wrong place. Frightened by appearances and ascent. Mc-de-wio was my Saviour. He reminded me of the entrance examination and how people had come with more experience, affluence and influence; he further spoke about that grueling encounter at the interview. "Masa, don't fear, you will survive" Then lectures continued, contributions were massive and books were displayed. Tutorials followed and gradually, some separation was automatically done. Lazy from the hardworking, women from girls and men from boys. Not all three were based on academics though. Truly and verily, people are different in all fields of endeavour. Raw talk, polished talk, respect, disrespect and... pardon my ignorance, what does one mean when he says someone has attitude? I hear people say so about others but, coming from a bush school, hmmm, I don't understand. Now, I heard about examination, later, there was a 7.30am time table, it was changed to 11.30am and 2.30pm. I was still a stranger in the Faculty; in fact I still am a stranger. I heard about some learning stratification and decided to use part of the time 'we' claim to be insufficient to find out and inform you. You are in this habit of calling people gossips, this is not gossiping. I am only a good samaritan, spending part of my precious time to inform you. You may not know; hmmmmmm, some are called, 24/7, some too tutorial rooms, some also, library and many more. How are you called? Outstanding learning class of L300, check out for your name; VAT, SHOUT, GROBA, YAY, DAY, AC, MAK, ANGLE, IRE etc. I looked through curiously and there was not a single male. But I have been seeing some male competing with these serious students, where are they? Ah! I see, they call them Faculty soldiers; KIA, WON, ESQ, EY, AKOLO, OMAN and MQ. Before my name is added to the list of students classified as not serious, let me read one case and will come back for the continuation. Happy New Year and Better Exams results.

EPIPHANY OF EXAMINATION - G
