After such a long break, it is proper to give my friends a run down of events during the break. A lot happened but the most interesting was the involvement in party business. Love for my nation, my party, my constituency, my village and my family is equivalent to the love for myself. You can infer by juxtaposing with your love for yourself. Unconditional love. A love that is unconditionally conditional and the condition is that, if you feel the love is too much, get out.
This is exactly what motivated me and comrades with similar qualities to start the Coalition for Responsible Leadership (CRL). Comrades Betty Crosby, Mutala Ibrahim, Adongo Jacob, Maxwell Buaka, Theresa Hajia Awuni, Idayatu Ayass and some senior comrades of our party the NDC. Fellows, Ayekoo.
The so-called Young Patriots have taken the Ghanaian electorate for a ride and disrespected the ruling National Democratic Congress for far too long. It looks as if the opposition NPP is rather in power. They insult any body who speaks to issues of national importance including the president and his vice. What is this?
The NPP and their allies churn out so much lies it is unbelievable. Sometimes, they make one feel the nation should halt because they are out of power. They manufacture figures and throw them out as the truth. They need rebuttals. They have their match now in the Coalition for Responsible Leadership; a group formed to give real facts, figures and their sources. Ghanaians need to be told nothing but the truth.
The press conference on the 14th September, 2011 was successful though it started a bit late. The statement was read by Jacob Adongo on braille and it was perfect. Optimum utilization of a great resource. No wonder he is vying for the Navrongo Central seat. In the statement, facts and figures were presented and the young patriots invited to step out for discourse or choose the path they have already chosen and face us squarely.
After the press conference, a lot of water has gone under the bridge including re-echoing the statement on radio through interviews and studio discussions. Most interesting was meeting the brother of Jacob in the Sena Radio 104.7fm studio from the NPP. Just like any other NPP member, Thomas speculates, insinuates and lies about everything in Ghana. He puts any information out there without caution. No wonder that is where he belongs. In any case, he was interesting debating.
We have a lot of activities lined up for the rest of the year to draw the attention of the electorate to the good works of His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills. He has worked hard and will continue to work even harder. Now it is time to involved in this crusade; brace yourself and wait to receive us.
