SO I TOOK MY BIBLE

"So I took my Bible" Once at my work place as a young, energetic, enterprising and dynamic teacher, I wanted to use my idle hours to acquire some more knowledge; I informed my superior who thought it was an excellent idea so allowed me. Some of my colleagues were not happy with my decision and the subsequent agreement reached with my boss. They did not show any sign of disagreement so I felt all was well.

With continuous pressure, my boss queried me for using office hours to acquire personal knowledge that have no impact on our students. As an exuberant young man, I took my pen and replied her in anger. "After informing you of my action......" I went on and on. She was infuriated and said all manner of things but what I still remember so well was, "Anytime you have an annoying information, sleep or read your Bible"

In the last four weeks, text messages, calls and verbal information from family and friends about political opponents are so distasteful they demand immediate reply. Thank God at 3x years, I am analytic and advised. I receive the information, analyse and ignore. Sometimes, I discuss with some other family and friends; go to sleep or read a book.

I have said over and over again that, going into politics, I did not rule out names calling, maligning and recall of distorted facts. I was aware of all these before entering. They have started doing worse but I am prepared. I have no scary shadows. I am not prepared to rebut I do not have to.

Frankly speaking, half education is worse than no education at all. It can be likened to a half trained mechanic or a quack doctor. They are murderers. It is good to learn how to read and even better to learn to comprehend what you read. The best is to be sure your comprehension matches the idea of the communicator before transmitting same idea to some other person. Misinformation has led to tribal and civil wars. Information receivers should be careful because the messenger can intentionally change the message and the mood of the messenger can change the message.

Any person who wants to handle any position should be analytic. Acting on hear say and jumping into tantrums does not show good leadership. When I had the calls yesterday about the defamation, I sighed, called Theresa and Simon for a discussion not related to the issue just to reduce the reaction. Then I took my Bible. Not knowing where to open to, I flipped and landed on Issaiah 48:10-22. I was calmed enough to get a good sleep. thank God for that word.

Next morning, I took the same Bible and again the first flip took me to Habakkuk 1:1-5. My day was full of blessings and upliftment. Friends, anytime you are not sure, take your Bible because I took my Bible and it was fruitful.

Let me ask my question again; (you judge if this is an insult to anybody) 'imagine John Mensah tackling idle Dede Ayew in a Ghana versus Nigeria encounter when old Kanu has the ball. What will happen?' Simple, clear, basic english language. Primary logic! If Kanu and Dede are in the same team in any man's mind, so be it. If it is mischief too. God is watching.
