When Hon. Kwasi Bandua won the NDC Biakoye parliamentary primaries in 2004, he was declared an instant hero. He ousted a man many considered a hard nut to crack. He was helped by many without a dime.
In the same 2004, he won in the national parliamentary election in absentia due to the commitment of the people of Biakoye and the great Akatamanso party to block any form of intrusion by any party. Even when the industrous Kofi Appiah (May His Soul Rest In Perfect Peace), stood independent, his own people stood behind the NDC though the candidate was ill and absent.
In 2008, party people including my own mum virtually begged for Hon. Bandua to be allowed a second term. Whatever negotiations they had was unknown to Dr. Kwabena Adjei. The late Awoye Kaizaro, late J. J. K. Twumasi may their souls rest in peace and Mr. Appiah Nyarko spoke on the issues.
When it became obvious that he (Bandua) will not get it smooth this time round, he started opening fire through his men. I have had a lot of unpleasant experiences within this short time that a feeble heart would have given up. As for allegations, more than a dozen is out there but nobody is buying.
It started from his (DENNIS) father is NPP, then it moved to he (Dennis) is a small boy. When these failed, the stage managed arrest and 48 hour detention of some youth of Tapa Amanya; my hometown was attributed to me. This led to almost a year of hatred between some youth in my hometown and myself; Thank God that is over now. The precipitates of that anger can be managed.
Recently, I heard some people from his camp tell delegates that I have no money to BRIBE them so they should not follow me but that is also not working because delegates in Biakoye are so awake and alive that one time primaries 'premium' is not what they are looking for. They are asking questions like, where are the ward offices? where are the party flags? where are the membership cards? pertinent issues bothering them are what they are seeking answers to. They want to know what is going on in government through their representative.
The use of sentimental issues to incite one traditional area against another by a sitting member of parliament in his own constituency exposes his selfishness. As an aspirant, I am very much aware of what they are capable of saying and doing against me. Thankfully, I have live a higher percentage of my life in my constituency doing all sorts of jobs with the people. I know my people and my people know me.
Nominations were opened on the 24th of November 2011 throughout Ghana. I met the secretary for the forms on 4th of December 2011 but could not pick it and did so the next day. What is the fuss about nomination forms if one is deep rooted in his constituency and is in touch with his constituents.
The use of the word clydestine reminds any one in the constituency of 'tricks' adopted by the MP and his chronies. Their refusal to make the delegates list available to all, the replacement of delegates suspected to be against him, seizure of membership cards to prevent my endorsement and the propagation of blatant lies against me. I am sailing through all these without complaint.
I am in touch with the delegates. The delegates know what the people they represent expect them to do. They are in the constituency with the people and it should not take the national chairman to tell the people of Biakoye that times have changed and therefore there is the need for a "POSITIVE MISSION" A mission to unite the people, to get the youth on board, work as a team for the growth of Biakoye and to set a development agenda with the people for the people.
If it is not the wish of the people, let Biakoye say so and stop the false alarm. The alarm in Accra is not sounding in Biakoye; the people need action. The time has come to swim out and get our people solutions and not more problems. The issues raised are like a straw floating on a lake, they can not save you.
Greetings to all well meaning Akatamansonians and people of Biakoye. We will live to manifest our name; 'BIAKOYE' ma nkoso) ...... Unity breeds development.

In The Eyes of Ghana's Non-Performing MPs
It is amazing how some members of parliament of the Republic of Ghana and their chronies think about their electorates, especially the delegates. In the past, I did not understand why MPs did not care about delegates until it was time for parliamentary primaries. Now, I can say why because I am in the race for parliament and have come face to face with some of their schemes and real meanings of their actions and inactions.
Some MPs are so insensitive that they do not do any thing to improve the living conditions of the party faithfuls, foot soldiers and executives. Why? Because in poor living conditions, human beings are vulnerable and succumb easily to the whims and caprices of bread and butter providers. This is what MPs sought to achieve by leaving their electorates poorer than they met them.
May their Souls Rest in Perfect Peace. Some hard working executives of Biakoye Constituency died poppers and their places of abode until their death could go for anything. These were men who served the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with their sweat and toil but could not show anything for it. These men worked hard thinking what they could do to help their constituency, party and country whilst their leader thought of himself and how to keep the seat permanently.
Since then, things have changed and the untouchables have been touched. Ask Ahwoi if there was anything he could not provide. Ask Zita, she was said to have given out GHc 300.00 per delegate yet she lost. These two represent a clear case of a performer and a non performer who both had the same benefit. It also tells you the unpredictability of the delegate. The fact that you provide him with XYZ is not enough to warrant a vote.
Sadly, some of these MPs do not learn at all. May he live long; Hon Adu Asare. Objectivity created bad blood between him and his executives leading to pressure on him to step down after just one term. This honourable does better than some sewing machine and roofing sheets sharing MPs. Even if they wish to give these things genuinely to their delegates, why now? Just some few days to their primaries and they are distributing such items for votes?
The use of common fund for vote purchase is criminal and must not be encouraged. Tell your MP to initiate projects and schemes that will help you get a regular income and not wait till it's election to doll out small gifts.
The lessons of election 2000 from the Akan constituency are still fresh on our minds. when the then MP who had lost his popularity with the electorate was re-elected at the primaries, Rashid Bawa was elected as an independent candidate. The love for NDC was used to axe Rashid when he stabbed his electorate in the back by selfishly defecting to NPP. This is one of the reasons why incumbent MPs who have lost their grip on the ground must not use diabolical means to get re-elected at their primaries for the bigger race can send the NDC to opposition.
Congress 2013 should consider a mini general election where every card bearing member of NDC of good standing should be allowed to vote to elect candidates for the general election to remove vote buying and intimidation from parliamentary primaries. It is absurd that most party sympathisers and 'members' inluding branch and constituency executives do not have membership cards. Whose responsibility is it to provide membership cards? If one can not provide little things that will develop the party, he can not help the party.
Rounding up, delegate, friends of delegates and every well meaning Ghanaian should watch out for the display of sewing machines, tv sets, fridges, roofing sheets and money just to maintain power and ignore the people until it's primaries again. It has started at Afram plains North where a sleeping MP is sharing goodies. Watch out for hot gossips this xmas.

THE IMPUDENCE OF A FAILING MINISTER
The right to hire and fire, set up and dissolve boards rest with the president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency; J. E. Atta Mills. Since assuming office on January 7, 2009, he has successfully exercised that right to the best of his ability. His ability to utilize, misuse or abuse this right well has attracted varied reactions from different quarters.
The president has refused on several occasions to fire appointees who abuse or misuse their offices inspite of calls on him by party faithfuls, members, founder and ordinary Ghanaians. Opposition members have given the president several names based on his actions and/or inactions. 'Heartless' 'Do little' etc. are some of the names depending on the day and circumstance.
Three months to the 2008 general elections, the former president J. A. Kufuor travelled to the USA and in his absence, his office fired the District Chief Executive of Kpando. The DCE was strong enough to stand against that wrong action on the grounds that he will only be removed by the appointing officer; the president and not his office. Fortunately, the then president came back and reversed the dismitissal. A strength worthy of emulation from a president. What he failed to do was to fire someone from his office.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) was in opposition for 8years and in those difficult years, people made names in one way or another for themselves and the party. In the Volta Region, names that come to mind easily are Owusu-Siaw (Bulldozer) and Ahiable Modestus (Eda), In Ashanti region, who can forget 'Antoa, aka 'egg'? In central, Auntie Ama. In the Eastern Region, Anthony Gyampo, Julius Debrah, Sumaila, Tawiah Boateng and others fought to bring NDC to power.
Most of these heroes were not recognized by the Mills-Mahama government to the surprise of a lot of Ghanaians. The competence of a man like Gyampo in any capacity can not be questioned. It was therefore no surprise at all when he was appointed acting MD of ECG. Between his appointment date some six months ago and now, the electricity situation has improved dramatically if not drastically. The frequent power outage that used to be has improved because of prudent management.
Some obscured names in NDC between 2001 and 2009 are now 'lords' in government. Who and where was Oteng Adjei when NDC was in opposition? What has he acchieved as a minister? It is amazing a mediocre minister like Oteng Adjei who is making up the numbers in government will appoint himself a firing authority. When did the ministry of energy become a ministry of 'didmissal? I pray there is a good reason to do so. Since Wednesday, people have complained from both NDC and opposition about the misconduct of the imposter in the media.
Who is the minister of energy to say he has fired Anthony Gyampo of all men from a position he did not appoint him to? What is his offence? We are watching the president and his vice to see what they will do. Mr President, the hen that lays the golden egg can not be sacrificed. Any hawk that tries a prank on such a hen should be shot. 'Re-instating' or nullifying this disgrace to the party and government and even the presidency will not be enough until Oteng Adjei is fired. A word to the wise is ENOUGH.
Towards election 2012, this is the biggest test for his excellency JEA Mills. If he is not a stuge for JJ Rawlings, is he a stuge for some ministers? If His Excellency is unable to be his own man on this issue, election 2012 will be a disaster for NDC for after all, the party will not be worth dying for. The final confirmation is now.
What an impudence! Oteng Adjei 'Honourable' you are not a well wisher.

CAR OWNER MENTALITY
Politics got dirtier, funnier and more comical when people who are suppose to know better reduce themselves to laughing stocks. Hahahahahahahaha! I remember my piece titled; 'I am still laughung' Indeed I am still laughing.
Preparing towards my own parliamentary primaries in January, I took keen interest in orphan constituency primaries to draw lesson for mine. IT IS A LESSON my daddy says. There were several shockers in these primaries since November 19 2011. These shockers make analysis a bit more difficult and good reasoning more remote. Remote in the sense that one can not just look at any result and draw immediate conclusion that this is what the delegates considered.
On Saturday November 19 2011, the biggest political shock for me and especially key senior politicians and Eastern Regional executives was unleashed when Akropong costituency delegates voted for their women organizer to beat their chairman with just two (2) votes. Biggest political shock because it was more surprising than FONKAR 3.9%; In the later, every Ghanaian expected a lose for FONKAR though not with such a humiliating margin but in Okorase 2011, people expected the chairman to win with about 80%.
'Mama' paid for virtually every expenditure of the constituency and supplied community needs but delegates were looking at something else. What were they looking at/for? Some of the reasons were funny if you asked me. Refusal to answer phone calls and inaccessibility were some of the reasons I was given later on. So I asked and keep asking what I should do.
Buffer stock director; most hailed minister of agriculture; hon kwesi ahwoi was a disaster and so was Akuamoah Boateng. My own comrade Adongo was floored but comrade Mutala won. Brother Livingstone took New Juaben North like nobody's business vying against his former regional boss who made the system so hot for him to resign. Stone has not got a bicycle but he was the delegates choice. What do delegates want. A regional boss or a resigned district boss? Delegates; a set of complex individuals. Trumpeting your own personal qualities makes noise in the ears of these 'HONOURABLES' They have their own criteria and they make their own judgements and decisions.
Who is a car owner to a delegate? What is a car to a delegate? vanity oh vanity. If a delegate's mind is made up on one candidate, the others mere presence annoys him/her. I am pretty sure that when Zita realized that Akuaku had no car, she thought she had an urge over her. She should have asked me to tell her what happened at the elephants' camp in my constituency. A fuel dealer, supposed not to have gone to school before stood against an MA holder. The message was level of education when in actual fact, majority of the delegates were the fuel dealer's 'mates' The result was 86 for MA holder and 625 for fuel dealer.
I am busily going round my constituency interacting with my delegates and constituents. I have been trying to find out what they expect from me and all. I had a call from a friend who funnily asked; do you have a car? I wanted to know what he meant by that question and he told me about Zita's asertion that Akuaku should not have won because she has not got a car. I was shocked. So she went into the race with a car owner's mentality that all drivers are her slaves and should take orders from her?
No wonder she could not do well as a minister in two seperate ministries. Car owner losing against Johnny walker? How many of the delegates came in their own cars? If she went campaigning that Akuaku had no car, did she not think she was refering to all delegates who had no cars of their own? Aspirants who feel others without their level of wealth should not be voted for should ask if the delegates have their level of wealth. I am enjoying this as comic relief. Concerto cantata after a hard day's hustle.
I rest my case. I am in my boat cruising to Madagascar to meet my friends; the delegates - chairman; the big position that displays its worth at conferences. Secretary, women organizer and youth organizer of each branch are the most important personalities in this yuletide.
MERY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR and DOUBLE DOUBLE PRIMARIES for 2012.

POVERTY DOETH ALL THINGS
Contrary to this old saying that "Money doeth all things.." I am encouraged to feel that "Poverty doeth all things" I know you have jumped to a hasty conclusion that I am crazy. Why should you think like this? Please stop thinking that way otherwise your thinking will be placed under poverty induction. Poverty doeth all things indeed.
What you forgot to inquire is whether all the things poverty doeth are positive or negative. I am happy to announce to you that it's a mixed bag of good and bad things with positivity leading the chat. The top ten events chat will usually have about 8 top items done out of one's own will happily.
We are so used to this situation that living poor itself is luxury. Anytime I visited one of my very poor friends, I have more, realistic and nature filled fun than my rich friends. Do you understand this? Open your mind and read these two scenarios.
I visited a friend at Tapa Alavanyo to introduce him to my all time dream project, cage culture (in-situ aquaculture). Due to the poor communication network, I sent him a message three days earlier through a fish monger I met at Tapa Abotoase. On arrival, I met him waiting along the river for me beaming with smiles. His broad smile was enough to infect me with chronic smiles through out my 6 hour stay with him.
The smile was not the only natural gift I received. Efo Agbevivi welcomed me at home with a calabash of pure, chemical free water. It did not end there. There was 'sodabi', local dry gin distilled from palm wine. It burns the chest and forces a frown on your face but forces a smile after spitting. All along we have not had any discussion at all. All the above was part of the welcome process. I even forgot the long and 'violent' hug when I got out of the canoe. It was refreshing.
We then proceeded to discuss my mission. His interest in the idea and the level of understanding of his fishing job was amazing. His questions and follow up questions were hectic than any formal interview section I ever went through. Not even the 13 man panel interview in the hands of the NDC in 2009 when I vied for the DCEship of Biakoye District. After the serious academic exercise with Efo, I was put before a mountain of banku with pepper and a basketful of fish.
My shirt was soaked in sweat because I had to dig my portion of the banku mountain whilst Efo also dug his. Immediately I pulled the last layer, I shouted 'ele afima haaa'? (are you there) to which he responded in the affirmative. After the competitive food show, we placed some 'lazy' chairs under some airy trees and enjoyed short sleep.
Your next mistake is the conclusion that I am recommending poverty, over eating and sleep. Another is that you are concluding that everyone living along the lake is poor. The owner of one beautiful storey building, a mini super market, 2 large motored canoes, 2 buses and a kia truck at Abotoase lives at Alavanyo. There are such other investors like him living along rivers and so many poorer people living in Accra and Kumasi.
Not all is well because my friend's wish as he expressed to me was to own a phone and mount a solar panel on his mud/thatch house. These he did not have because his work as he put it is hand-to-mounth. The man is enjoying living without his desires happily because poverty has presented it to him. I bought him a small phone with a registered sim card, well charged to last him 3 days at least before he sends it to Abotoase for charging. Expression of gratitude by my friend was shocking. GHc 30.00 phone to merit such expression of gratitude was surprising. Poverty fuels gratitude also.
I have a lot of rich friends who look at you with a lot of disrespect and wrong assumptions. What is maturity? The poor Efo asked questions on the verbal business proposal but my rich friend tells you to write a proposal and tells you there is no time to read yet. Poverty teaches respect and giving. Sharing and mutuality.
It is good to be knowledgeable and ambitious as me but who are you if people believe in you and you do not have money to support your words. I asked a friend, will you support my bid to be the mp of my constituency? why not? He assured. How much will you give me? I quizzed. I don't have money ooo, you know if I have money, I will give you. He teased. This guy above has a lot of money but will not give freely as Efo did with the little he had.
What I want friends and family to understand is that we all have dreams and aspiration but there is the need for people to believe in us and support us. I am insisting that all my most helpful pals are not rich. In their poverty they still squeezed water out of stone to get me some cash to pursue my dreams.
I will not bore you but my friends and family, help me thank some poor friends. Thank you to the Gyampos, Douglas, Evelyn, Ofosu, Adisam, Ayambah, Ofori-Dansohs, Dwomoh and others. You made some space in poverty to help me in cash, kind, encouragement and direction.
What you forgot to inquire is whether all the things poverty doeth are positive or negative. I am happy to announce to you that it's a mixed bag of good and bad things with positivity leading the chat. The top ten events chat will usually have about 8 top items done out of one's own will happily.

STILL LAUGHING
Hahahahahaha; hahahahahaha..... I can not stop laughing at these posts on my wall on facebook. There were three posts. One was mind boggling and I wonder why the young man asked such a question on facebook when he is aware people with the right answers do NOT know a thing about facebook. Excuse my assertion if it is not true.
"When is Tapaman celebrating our festival?" Is Nana Kwame Asante on facebook? That was my first question when I saw the post. Or is Okyeame Darkwa on facebook? These are the men with answers. They are not on facebook. A revolution to bring them to a youth forum to say when, will not be a bad idea. I am not requesting violence. An assembly of anxious Tapa youth ready to experience a vibrant Tapa, inviting Nana and his elders or visiting Nana and his elders to find out what is the agenda for Tapa in the next 5years is not a bad idea. Think about this.
The answer given by Kobra is most inappropriate. I do not quite remember which chief was behind 'FRIKOOSO' but I know it was not Nana Sasu. Nana Sasu will remain in history as one of the best chiefs ever to rule Tapaman but he was not responsible for the festival I experienced.
There was a profane picture on my wall by Sammy, it was unfortunate. I may be rotten but not an exhibitionist of profanity. My inbox can receive anything but my wall must be respected because my children, their friends and passers by visit my wall.
This should be enough for the day because Yaw Nyarko has created a good platform for me to laugh and straighten some errors on Tapa but I am still laughing. Why? Oh, why? The same Yaw Nyarko (Yaw Mekoe) has given me reason to laugh my head off. I am not comfortable because people in my office are not sure all is well. I am ok. I am just fine.
Hallucination! Day dreaming! High fever! Interestingly, he has got his kind to sing that chorus with him. 'This is Mills' last budget and rule' and somebody screams amen. My GOD! what is wrong with you? I can't blame Yaw because he operates from an NPP sub-office. Bro, speak your mind but be careful it doesn't send you to your grave. Truth is, you have no reason to belong where you are now.
Brothers and sisters if there is any specific reason why this is Mills' last budget and rule, let's debate it because I am still laughing at my cousin; YAW and his friends. Hahahahahahahahahahaha........

MY HANDS ARE TIED AND MY LIPS SEALED
Things I find very difficult to talk about usually have to do with pastors (religious leaders), chiefs and ethnic groups. Any comments I had made with regards to Obinim's misconduct and vandalism (All apologies to V-mates); the abomination of Mr and Mrs Love and the dirty revelations of Akwaboa and others were mere passing comments. There have been real issues within and outside my traditional area Tapa that required plain talk but for the sake of peace and maintenance of cultural values and respect, I swept the issues under the carpet.
Day-in and day-out, I learn new lessons (credit to my dad; IT IS A LESSON). I now understand why elders especially chiefs are not permitted to play 'DAME' (game of draught). It is full of insults and insinuations. This can only be likened to present day democracy where speech is "FREE" If one wants to price his statements, that is left to himself; a friend said. What I look at before writing or talking is ignored completely by others who see caution as cowardice. Hmmmmm, we can talk appropriately.
What am I saying? I am saying that when church leaders goof in their attempt to meddle in partisan politics, some people like myself are forced to come out of our shells. It is even more painful when it has to do with my own church the Roman catholic Church, and the highest decision making body at that; the Bishops Conference. Three things they talked about; 1. SHS, 2. CSSPS and 3. Biometric.
Most Rev. Charles Palmer-Buckle in an interview on Joy fm said, 'education is being toyed with by those who should know better' Question is, who are those? It is most annoying when he says that, there was no need for the government to hurriedly revert to the three-year SHS system when an evaluation of the four-year system had not been done to determine whether it served its purpose. What purpose is he talking about? What evaluation was made on the three year system before changing to four years? Is he aware of the Anamoah-Mensah committee's report?
In today's world where tomato sale is computerized, it saddens my heart to hear my own leaders call for the abolishing of a computerized system because it is problematic. The Metro Arch bishop had always been politically tilted towards the NPP so I wonder why the conference allowed him to speak on an issue like this one that appears so partisan. The CSSPS was started during the NPP era with a lot of problems; where was Most Rev Palmer-Buckle? The 70%; 30% seperation is a contributor to the aggravated confusion. Fixing the confusion is the solution and not abolishing the whole system. Have we abolished our churches because some pastors are indulging in fornication and adultry? In times past, GCB had very poor network that failed at the end of every month when so many workers report to take their salaries. Did we ask them to go back to the old system? They could only improve upon their network.
Biometric verification is the chorus of the NPP towards election 2012 and now, Most Rev is leading a mass choir of our church to join. I can only plead with the EC to listen and act if they so think that it is the way to a peaceful election 2012. Did any of my revered Fathers listen to the Ata Akyea tape? What did they say about it?
I am begging my most revered priests to be objective in their utterances. Their contribution to the education of Ghana is unquantifiable and so their requests, statements, decisions and inputs towards the growth of education in Ghana can not be undermined by any political party, group or individual but once their statements give them partisan colouration, people will talk.
During the conversion of SSS to SHS, what did they say? During the same conversion that changed the number of years from 3 to 4, what did they say? When the change was done without a commensurate errection of infrastructure, what did they say? When CSSPS started with all the confusion, what did they say? Why now? When coloured voter ID cards were changed to black and white, difficult to see ID cards, what did they say?
My hands are tied to my crucifix and my lips sealed with candles. I dare not read partisan politics into the decision of the highest decision making body of my church. A church I have no intension of ever changing. Thankfully, my action is not a reason for excommunication as is the case in other smaller churches. Bishop! Please forgive your sheep if he has tried to play the sherpherd's role. I am a humble sheep that has a different view point from yours.
All the same, I will attend first mass on Sunday. Have a nice day in the name of God the father, God the son and God the holy spirit. Amen

NANA'S PRAYER FOR ELECTION 2012
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He was the candidate in 2008 after winning a congress that was described as a contest of seventeen (17) robbers to elect the most hardened robber by the general secretary of the ruling NDC; Johnson Asiedu Nketia. Before his departure to the UK to meet blasphemous gay prime minister David Cameron, I overhead him say a prayer to God that is worth sharing.
Funnily, the NPP and its supporters before the run-off of election 2008 described H. E. John Evans Atta-Mills as a serial loser for losing elections 2000, 2000; run-off, 2004 and 2008 round one. Fortunately, he can now be described as miraculous election winner. Miraculous because after serially losing, he was almost broke, 'ill' (as his opponents put it) and had a vibrant media against him. In the face of all these and more he won in round two and TAIN. They also described the president as a Rawlings poodle.
Nana Addo was in the presidential primaries of his party in 1996 against ex-president Kufuor but he lost. This world aclaimed freedom fighter was forced to shut up towards the 2004 election where the ex-president was not contested. In the contest of the 17 powerful men, Nana Addo did not win but in the usual NPP stage-manged comedy, Alan Kyeremanten was forced to step down. If only Alan knew his opponent loses steam in run-offs, he would have gone for it. Unfortunately, his giving up for Nana made his supporters lose confidence in him. The result of the NPP's recent primaries is a justification of loss of confidence in Alan from his mistake in the 2007 Arts festival. "NPP ON STAGE 2007" at the Great Hall, Legon.
"Oh Lord my God in heaven, I am going to meet Cameron, what will I say to please Ghanaians without hurting my friend? I don't want to lose election 2012 to retire. I lost in 1996 to Kufuor, in 2003, it was my turn but I did his will by keeping quiet. Lord, I should have been tough like Nana Konadu. Thank you for 2007 because I led and twisted Alan's hand to win. As for that Alan, he is finished. He is so silent I can't believe it. Lord you are powerful. I didn't mean to say all die be die but God, once it is going down well with the people, forgive me and let me benefit from it. Father God, my daddy won so winning is my inheritance; let me enjoy it. The NDC keeps talking about shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sheeeeeeeeee sheeeeeeeeeeeee and the like but father, how can I survive it? My friends and supporters enjoy my speeches but others complain. Bottocks was harmless, fix it was without blemish. but look at how the NDC made it look. Atta is suffering and I will suffer if I should win but God I want to suffer. Atta's suffering is better than mine now. Father, the flight is ready so I will keep talking to you on the plane"
Listening to Nana, I said to myself, this man does not even know what to tell God. What is he going to tell Ghanaians for them to vote for him? God bless our homeland Ghana and leave us in the hands of Evans Atta-Mills because Nana Addo can not help Ghana at all.

WAR MONGERING OR FEAR OF THE OBVIOUS?
Permit me to harmlessly ask why Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said all die-be-die!? I am almost three decades younger than the man Nana Addo but I can tell when a man is desperate. Nana Addo does not want to be labelled as one who wanted to be a president as happened to the late Adu Boahen (May His Soul Rest In Peace). He fought a tough fight in election 1992 but lost to a legend in Ghana politics; a living legend: Ft Lt J. J. Rawlings.
Nana Addo wants to be a president of the Republic of Ghana. As he put it at KNUST, by all means. I guess he is living in a different world where he thinks threats will push majority of Ghanaians to vote for him. The mention of majority has struck a note in my head. Tone or semitone that is. The tune raised by the Red-White-Blue choir master; Jake Obetsebi Lamptey. Akans form the 'majority' and if they have .... in Cote D'Ivoire, why can't we in Ghana? Thankfully, most of the choresters did not sing to the tune. That is the Ghanaian for you; you can not push 'majority' to dance to your tune if it is not danceable.
The rejection of the 'All-Die-Be-Die' mantra led to 'Akans are majority' which was equally rejected by the same majority; then came 'By All Means' which was simply ignored. The NPP and it's leadership not satisfied, are using another channel; Peter 'Mark' Manu to threaten Ghanaians once again.
Hahaaaaaa! I laughed when I heard this on radio. No wonder this chairman could not lead the NPP to victory in 2008. He was busy licensing his gun. He should waste the time left for campaign acquiring and licensing guns for footsoldiers and not guide them to adopt appropriate campaign tactics. Nobody in NDC will pick a gun but we will not sit for anybody from NPP to threaten us with a gun.
If MacManu and Nana Addo have so soon forgotten, this misdirection or is it misconception is what led to the painful murder of the NPP's Dome-Kwabenya chairman; May His Soul Rest In Peace. This man had a gun, armed robbers went to his house, successfully robbed him of his cash, about to leave, he reached for his gun, one of the robbers turned, he dropped the gun, the robber went for it and shot him. As for the gun, you can own; licensed or not. You can also brandish it anytime anywhere but your ability to misuse it as instructed is another matter. Empty barrels, they say, make the most noice.
This also reminds me of an advert by MTN towards the CAN 2008, when the Black Stars skipper said; 'LET THEM COME' in response to an alert by a child, 'THEY ARE COMING' They idea was to prove to fans that he and his mates were ready for whoever but when they came, he was nowhere to be found. He was injured and out. When the NDC is shouting 'WIN' in election 2012, the NPP is shouting 'GUNS & CUTLASSES' They will get to realize rather late that the tools for election 2012 are thumbs, ballot papers and ballot boxes. NDC is preparing over sea, land and air to defend the GOOD NAME OF GHANA.
Election 2012 is a done deal for the sober, God fearing and soft spoken President; His Excellency John Evans Atta-Mills. The threats and war mongering are but display of fear of the obvious. A huge lose for Nana Addo and the NPP. Arrogance does not win elections. Threats can not win you election. I can not imagine how anybody born of a woman can walk to me on election day and ask me to step aside because he believes in All-Die-Be-Die or he is Akan just as I am or he has a gun just like my late grandfather had which has been inherited by my uncle and just as my father has or even because he believes Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must By-All-Means be a president, for him to tamper with the decision of the people of Ghana/Biakoye/Tapa-Amanya/Asuwa(R.C.Primary). That is the day we will know who thinks what he believes.
If the NPP is blood thirsty and wish for war, they should reconsider their decision because it is a field they can not succeed on. If they are afraid of the obvious, they should go back to the drawing board and get a strategy that will go down well with Ghanaians. We can not be threatened to accepting what we dislike. Nana Addo and his NPP should drop the threats and come again. Think election 2012, think PEACE, think NDC, think Prof. Mills. Eye Zu, Eye za

NO HEAD(ING)
I am so confused I do not know how to caption this write-up, I chose to call it 'NO HEAD(ING). Is it an issue of people not having the head to reason before their actions or there are so many scenarios of people displaying senselessness I am not able to get a caption.
I wish I could call it 'DRIVER DIES FOOLISHLY' OR 'FOOLISH DRIVER KILLS ANOTHER FOOLISH DRIVER' (Excuse my language). This would have been appropriate if today's accident in front of the National theatre is all there is to talk about. You may not have been previewed to that story. Let me brief you. Two tipper truck drivers collided head on in front of the National Theatre in Accra when they both ignored the STOP sign, resulting in the death of one of them and severe injury to three others. Just a minutes' waiting would have saved a "precious" life.
A pause to look at a situation once again will alter one's decision. An angry reaction to a text message on a sober lady's boyfriend's phone from an ex-girl friend made me drive all the way to Anloga last night. My further anger is not my driving to Anloga tired but reactions to pleas for her to exercise patience and ask questions about the text message. Everybody was insulted including myself. In this case, I would have captioned it; 'PATIENCE IS KEY'
Sogah went into carpentry apprenticeship agreement for a 3year apprenticeship. Sogah was a good apprentice until two and a half years into the study, he met Akuvi his 'love' Some love indeed. One Saturday morning, Akuvi passed through Senior Sogah's place because they did not meet on Friday night. Surprisingly, she met Sogah washing some clothes including some women's clothes. She was curious and questioned Sogah why he should was a woman's clothes; when she was told it's for his master's wife, she got angry and asked Sogah to stop. This was how Sogah was sacked from his apprenticeship. "STUPID LOVE" I will call this because Akuvi also left Sogah because he could not raise 'chop money' for him.
Somebody allows a group to influence him and his like to the extent that they track their head of state and kill him and call that 'FREEDOM?' Ha! Some freedom I do not envy at all. If there is one 'death' 'assassination' 'overthrow' or call it whatever that has hurt my heart in recent years, it is that of Brother Gadaffi. May his battered soul rest in perfect peace. The man who held Islam so high was not even given a befitting Islamic burial. Freedom indeed!
The small madness and big madness around the world will one day crush this world. The little things we all do or do not do will kill the world. Brothers and Sisters, think and think again before your next action. Good day or night.
Thank you my brother; how could I have left without talking about the insanity of David Cameron? He is culturally, mentally, religiously and psychologically insane. No Ghanaian will die because Cameron and his people have withdrawn their demonic aid. I love the woman and like my men around me. I can simply not imagine going to Tapa Amanya or anywhere within Biakoye to say that my sexual partner is same sex as myself. I guess I will be stoned to death. I asked Gyamfi during Akwantutenten to allow a male friend entry as a partner but he refused arguing that he knows I can never be gay. Thank God most Ghanaians are not gay and are not interested in his proposal and threats. Devil! Go away with your aid.

YAM AND MIGRATION FESTIVALS, DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES
Festival is an event, usually staged by a local community, which centers on some unique aspect of that community. Among many religions, a feast or festival is a set of celebrations in honor of God or gods. A feast and a festival are historically interchangeable. However, the term "feast" has also entered common secular parlance as a synonym for any large or elaborate meal. When used as in the meaning of a festival, most often refers to a religious festival rather than a film or art festival.
In the Christian liturgical calendar there are two principal feasts, properly known as the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Christmas and the Feast of the Resurrection Easter. In the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Anglican liturgical calendars there are a great number of lesser feasts throughout the year commemorate saints, sacred events, doctrines, etc.
In Ghana, there so many festivals across the length and breadth of the country. These festivals are celebrated to thank the supreme being or gods for bumper harvest; safe migration; first harvest and victory in battle. Names given to Ghanaian festivals depend on the ethnic group, language and the reason for the celebration. Akwasidae, Kundum, Damba, Hogbetsotso, Akwantukese, Akwantutenten, Bayeredi, Homowo, Frikoso and Gbi-dukoza are a few of the festivals in Ghana.
In recent times, OFORI-ASIEDU FOUNDATION, TAKE COOL TWO drinking water and Stelo jewelery have become a positive trio, making things happen for festivals with vision. Within the Biakoye constituency, no organization is as vibrant in event promotion, management and sponsorship as the trio. They make events happen. In October 2011, they made Ntsumuru yam festival extraordinary and Worawora Akwantutenten super; mega and are hoping to join wurupong in November.
Ghanaian culture is elegant in all aspect and similar in a lot of ways. Major differences in festivals are mostly names, patronage and themes. The more the patronage, the more colourful it looks. catchy themes attract patrons but must go with marketing; this is where OFORI-ASIEDU FOUNDATION, TAKE COOL 2 and STELO come in as great partners.
Ask me and my view is that all festivals in Ghana are same. Features are on pouring of libation, re-enacting the events of the past and sourcing for funds for development. Merry making is a key characteristic of festivals. From traditional dances to foreign music and dance. It is time for families to re-unite and settle dispute.Businesses also do well during this period especially food and alcoholic beverage dealers.
Sadly, some persons especially the youth use this period to engage in immoral acts. In 2003, it was reported that there was condoms shortage in a town during a festival. It was also reported at one festival review that, organizers have canceled a blood donation event because a similar exercise the previous year showed over 45% tested positive for HIV. It was rumoured that less than 10% tested HIV positive two years earlier. The suspicion further was that a lot of them engage in unprotected sex during these festivals.
Thing is whether the festival is for bumper harvest, battle victory or whatever, the benefits and problems are similar. The differences are even more similar.

MY DAY OF PRIDE
Saturday October 22, 2011 was my day of pride as a citizen of Tapa-Amanya when in my over 35 years in life a good story was told about my little town in relation to education. A move away from the status quo. A great move away from those string of failures in BECE results.
I was a special guest at the Ntsumuru yam festival at Nkonya-Ntsumuru. Minutes after my short speech, the Director of Education's representative was invited to speak on the state of education in Biakoye. The speaker; one Apreko could simply be described as a great speaker. The man was up to the task. When he started speaking and giving the records, I was scared. When he mentioned Tapa-Amanya, I missed a heart beat but to my utmost surprise, he said, 'all students who wrote the BECE at Tapa Amanya passed and had schools, thus 100%'
Immediately, I was relieved of any pressure. Then I shouted, clap for my people. Fortunately, they responded with a thunderous clap. People from Amanya at the time with me at the festival were excited as well. BECE; 100%, we are excited. Why?
We are excited because events of the immediate past were not like this. Football matches stopped in the middle of the game because Amanya was losing. The flogging of friends because of games we lost and the acquisition of titles like 'patapaa', 'sheeshee' and the like as other neighbours usually refer to us give us cause to be excited about little things.
My joy grew bigger when I visited the wall of Tapa Nkosuo yesterday on facebook to read a discussion started by one Collins Dankwa. For another once, I think Collins touched on the right knob and all the contributors were excellent. What is missing in here is whether Collins and his friends meant what they were saying. It is hypocritical to preach virtue and practice vice. A call for a youth action requires youth support in endeavours that lead to the development of Tapa.
Now that you have started this debate, we can all call Tapaman to action and invite the youth to contribute meaningfully to the development of Tapa. I am all out for it what about you?

AFRICA WATCH PPI; MY VIEW
This familiar vendor walked to me with the October 2011 edition of Africa Watch magazine. I hurriedly took a copy and paid, looking for the obvious. The obvious are truths, half truths and untruths. These all depend on who is reading; I reject any attempt to rate people of NDC low. Same way, Bismark my NPP friend thinks low rating of NPP members of parliament is sycophancy at its best.
In my entire life, I have learnt that people who are tested are given the opportunity to have an outline to know and understand what they are tested on even though the marking scheme is hidden from them. In Africa watch's grading, not even the graded know what they are graded on. Whilst some MPs feel their works at committees level should push them up, others are of the view that their development drive in their constituency should do the trick. Nobody except Steve and his staff can tell how our members of parliament are graded.
No matter how bad the grading may be, it has some good sides and some bad sides. Given the right to review the grades, I will push some politicians up and others further down. Myjoyonline captured some F graded MPs complaining but the question I asked myself was; what were they expecting? I have monitored some of them and F is their lot.
A first timer in parliament is like an undergraduate and a second timer can only be a graduate student. Where as F at the undergraduate level is failure and given the right to resit, C is failure at second degree level and might not qualify one for resit if the credit falls below 21. Second and third timers in parliament who had below B- should be booted out if the PPI is anything to go by. The credibility of the PPI I can not ascertain because there are still a few questions.
Is tribal politics the best for Ghana? If not, what special traits has Jake Obetsebi Lamptey displayed in 2011 besides playing the Akan card which he is not part of, to put him ahead of all party chairmen? When the good people of Ghana are condemning tribal politics, Africa watch is rewarding it by putting Jake ahead of all chairmen for his infamous Akans should rise and fight statement.
Hon. Mike Oquaye is the 'best' MP in Ghana in 2011? How was this arrived at? Is it that the people of Dome-Kwabenya did not know so they reward this by electing his son? A man who wanted to creat a dynasty in his constituency suddenly becomes a hero for a wrong move? We live to see how it goes. As for Hon. "enya" I. C. Quaye, I would have given him F and added a 'g' (Fg). Thank God he is not coming to parliament again.
Hon. Didieye is one young parliamentarian I pity so much. His rise to parliament has been one hell of an experience from 'MPs are womanizers to I gave a woman money' I do not envy him at all. What is worst is that he is facing great heads like Betty Crosby in his constituency and this F grading is going to hit him like tsunami. Sorry oooo honourable. It's not your fault. Give yourself a break.
As if Afram Plains is cursed with this pair of non performing MPs, Hon. Ahaligah who has been considered as untouchable in some circles has also scored F in the face of a stiff challenge from one Kevor; a tutor at Presby University College and the youth organizer of Abetifi. I pray for Afram Plains. This Honourable is so unlucky because second timers like him can not be spared on a C let alone an F. Good bye honourable.
My MP has moved from a D+ to C. Second timer C? Failure! The move is more annoying than the grade. 0.5 points is no movement at all in grading. I am asking just like all other constituents are asking what he did differently to merit the minute move? I remember now; he shared welligton boots, cutlasses and mats. He met branch executives and insulted his challengers and deepened wounds. Biakoye constituency is divided now than ever before. If this is why an MP should be better of then Hon. 'wofa pa ye' the Akan MP, a first timer should have done better. I rest my case.
Any attempt to talk about the grading of 'all die be die' and 'Asomdwoe hene' will rubbish the whole money hunting exercise by Africa Watch. When it suits us, we will refer to it but when it does not, we will ignore or rubbish it. Well done; skew the last in 2012 to include DCEs and regional/constituency party chairmen. That will give 939 politicians without CPP and PNC who will by then have presidential candidates. As3m s3b3!!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S FESTIVAL TIME AGAIN
On Friday 14th october 2011, I went to Akropong Akuapem for a seminar at the District Assembly and that environment was enough to notify you of great happenings in the town. I did not even attempt to enter the town because the stress one has to go through in order to penetrate the human and vehicular traffic was beyond imagination. I left for Accra thinking of what to do next to get a thing like that going in my constituency if not my traditional area.
On Saturday, the next day after the experience at Akropong I decided to use the same route on my way to Biakoye; my dear constituency. The traffic jams at Amanokrom, one way and Akropong, Akuffo road which were both diversions to ease traffic made me aware of how the Odwira festival has come to stay. It is one of the festivals of Ghana. No doubt about that. In my 6 years stay in Amanokrom, the only times the town was packed as it was yesterday were the burial and final funeral of the late Oyeeman.
One question kept running through my mind; when will there be a festival like this in my constituency? Almost immediately, I recalled how attempts by Ogrohwe Anyenam Kwaku Boateng to develop Frikooso had died after three years due to pettiness on the part of his organizing committee. That festival was promising and the people were enthusiastic but the leaders disappointed them. YES! AKWANTUTENTEN of Worawora also came to mind. It nearly suffered the same fate but thanks to the exuberant youth led by Gyamfi, it is back and bigger. Ntsumuru Yam festival also came to mind; it is small, steady and picking up. Thanks to Sir Carlos and his team.
One name that has come to stay and synonimous to the growth of Biakoye through festivals is the OFORI-ASIEDU foundation. This foundation is ably managed by me; Dennis Ofori-Asiedu. This foundation seeks to combine the exuberance of the youth with the experience of the elderly to the benefit of all. Formal, Non-formal and informal educational techniques will be adopted through integration to achieve this "POSITIVE MISSION" This foundation will seek to maximize the little contribution of every person to his or her own life and community accruing essentially to the total growth of the whole constituency. Interdependence at least if not independence through profitable skills acquistion and quality education is the goal.
Already, the foundation has worked under household names such as 'Visionaries Keep Fit Club', Visionaries Club and YPI all to the benefit of the people of Biakoye. It has also partnered TAKE 2 WATER and BUFFALO BITTERS to engage in festival promotions. Last year 2010, We were there for Ntsumuru and Worawora with packages that might not appear big but made a lot of impact on the events. The package included; 45 minutes on Lorlornyo fm, T shirts, seedlings for tree planting exercise, used cloths for a deprived community of choice, free water for health walk and medical screening for residents. This contribution changed the face of both festivals completely and has encouraged organizers to do it again this year.
Thankfully, this year 2011, COWBELL has joined AKWANTUTENTEN and organizers have shown gratitude by standing by us; OFORI-ASIEDU foundation and TAKE 2 WATER the OFFICIAL water supplier for AKWANTUTENTEN 2011. We are proud to announce our package for this year and the ushering in of our new name; "OFORI-ASIEDU FOUNDATION" A name that will change a lot and impact a lot more. Be part of this foundation, contribute to it and move Biakoye to the next level.
Today 16th October 2011, 14.30GMT (2.30pm), Rashid will host the team from Nkonya Ntsumuru to give the line up of events for Ntsumuru Yam Festival 2011 and fall out from festival 2010. The package will include water from TAKE 2, Jewellery from STELO JEWELS for all beauty contestants and 1st prize from STUWEB TOURS LTD your surest and cheapest way to Israel on christian pilgrimage. The people of Agyamansu will also benefit from this year's used cloth donation.
Sunday October 23 2011 14.30GMT (2.30pm) is for the people of Worawora to give a run down of events of 2010 and up coming events for 2011. Be part of us this Sunday and next Sunday on Lorlornyo fm in Hohoe. Watch out also for the biggest programme on Lorlornyo ever to hit your airwaves. "Time with Rashid - Biakoye mpontuo"

I rest my case. I will be in the studio at 2.30pm today you listen if you can.

30% FOR GOOD OR BAD INTENTIONS?
Folks, I am back to your walls after a very long break. Whether I am welcome or not is another matter. Taking into account the number of calls and messages I had from friends and cherished readers, the obvious is a warm welcome. Enjoy this first piece which will touch on a few issues hammering more on the use or misuse of the 30% of placement in Senior High School for 10km radius catchment area.
During the break, a lot of things happened including the brawl between hon. Cobby Acheampong and L/Cpl Annan. Hmmmmmmmmm! I could not comment on this matter at Sena Radio 104.7fm because the two parties involved in this matter are all not worth defending. Three months ago, I went to the Ministry of Interior with two cadres of the NDC; well known hard working members of the party to see the minister. We were told upon arrival that the minister was out of town with the Chief Director but the deputy minister was in the office. The problem on hand was one that could be handled by the top 3; Minister, deputy minister and Chief Director; so we asked to be allowed to meet with the deputy minister. We filled a form which was delivered to him but he declined to attend to us. What impudence!
All three of us at the ministry had huge hearts that could accommodate his rubbish. He did not work any harder than any of the folks I went there with to bring the NDC to power in 2008. He was an office, TV and radio soldier who could not be compared to the hardworking foot soldiers. Every contribution matters and should be respected. None of us is a beggar. We needed vital information for the good of our party. Cobby was disrespectful to us and does not deserve my respect and defence in anyway. My personal experience aside, he should learn to be man enough and stop this insulting behaviour. What kind of honourable is this?
Whilst advicing the cat, it is appropriate to also advice the mouse. Bringing out the insulting behaviour of Cobby does not in anyway vindicate the police. The police have in the past acted in criminal fashion in order to extort cash from innocent citizens of our motherland. Hiding in curves, valleys and uphills is no longer secret. You can only be saved if a fellow driver signals you that the police is ahead. Surprisingly, most of their guns will get you moving at 75km/hr. On the Takoradi road, that was the speed; Goviefe on the Hohoe road, it was the same speed; at Sarpeiman on the Nsawam road, it was at that speed and at Peki Adzokoe it was the same speed. Why?
My experience at Nungua barrier with L/Cpl Forkuo should be mentioned. This policeman thought that any civilian driving a soldier's car should remove the army stickers even if he is doing so at the instance of the soldier. To get me to succumb and part with some cash, he asked three unnecessary questions in a row without waiting for an answer. I had to restrain myself from engaging in a scuffle with this policeman. He actually told me that I was talking rubbish; can you imagine? A young ugly looking and disrespectful policeman. If it was his kind that met Cobby, then it serves them right.
In my earlier write ups, I remember mentioning that I was an average student sometimes, 'shark' sometimes and block headed some other times. It was catchment area concession that helped me to gain admission into my alma mater. Some students were entering with aggregate 6 when I was perambulating schools with aggregate 20+. The 30% also gave students within the catchment to enter with higher aggregates. Fortunately, I did well and even better than some of those who entered with single digits. Thanks to the decision maker. My daddy did not want to be part of any bribery to get his son into school. My poor mother did the 'carrying around' of her son without a dime. Thank God she succeeded in securing a school at last.
Why am I revealing what you will consider a secret? I am telling you because I have out grown it. I have learned beyond that and today, I have a second degree. That near failure did not cripple me into quiting. It strengthened me to work harder. My family and friends were by me in prayers and finance. Since then, I have pledged to support others who find themselves in my old shoes. No wonder I led Ataa to secure admission in a good school with a near aggregate 30 result and kwabie with aggregate 30.
The announcement of the controversial 30% concession for students in certain catchment areas came to me as a re-opening of a window of opportunity for my kind of students. I agreed to send this student with aggregate 17 to benefit from the opportunity but to my surprise, teachers are selling the 30% for cash between GHc 100.00 and GHc 400.00. The use of 'some teachers' is not an option here because, out of the six schools we visited yesterday, all the 24 teachers we spoke to demanded money within the stated range. Finally, I could only say; God, teachers too? On teachers' day when the state was honouring teachers, such a crime should not be committed by teachers.
The 30% per cent concession is not a bad idea but its implementors will surely make it bad. The intention is not bad but the children are not watching the father. Teachers, watch your father and make it good for those it is meant for.
I still haven't got admission for the poor girl so if anyone has a free admission, inbox me. Admission for aggregate 17 without bribe is what I am asking for.
STRUGGLING TO WORSHIP
'Peace be unto you'. 'And also with you'. This is the greeting and response respectively at my church; Roman Catholic Church. I belong to three parishes due to my schedules. Saint Martins at Teshie camp, Akuapem and Abotoase parishes. I worship at Teshie mostly and sparsely at Akropong and Tapa Amanya. I am not a regular visitor, let me say the truth.
Other churches greet differently but all to the glory of our maker. greeting: 'praise the Lord' response:'haleluya'; greeting: 'Haleyuya' response: 'haleluya' are but a few greetings and responses in some churches. Identifying with any society or grouping is good for our own welfare especially if it has to do with 'doing our maker's will'. Societal membership comes with obligations; some difficult to fulfil.
I love the Catholic church and its doctrines. The level of freedom is second to none. What amazes me is how you are allowed to put your conscience to the test. You can do every/anything on earth but not all things are good for you. You here, represents your whole; spiritual, health, physical, emotional, communal and social. I have left out psychological and physiological. People are asking what I am trying to say dancing around words.
Young men love to explore and exploration sometimes leads to exploitation which may result in depletion or destruction. I am yet to find out if a catholic has ever been excommunicated for alcohol use. In some churches, people are not allowed to taste alcohol or even go close to it. I remember visiting my friend the chief of a nearby village who also doubles as a pastor with a bottle of schnapss as tradition demands. He had a piece of advice for me: "anytime you are coming to me, do not come with alcohol because I do not touch it. If I should even touch it now, you will see the apostles coming to caution me" I was shocked because I have the freedom to worship and handle alcohol or even taste but I don't taste. I know what you are thinking. You have the freedom in some cases to do whatever you wish to but you have to be mindful of its after effect on you.
Personally, I am unable to go to church as often as my neighbours and my family. Mum is virtually resident in the chapel. I envy that woman and her sibblings. I am struggling to worship with them and I know you also may have the same problem or had it in the past. How did you solve it? How are you solving it? Joining a strict church is not good for some people yet the freedom in my church is also not good for others.
Today, I managed to attend first mass a bit late and the welcome was great and the feeling was good. I wish I am able to honour this obligation every Sunday. Pray with me and for me brothers and sisters that I may be able to offer myself a sacrifice unto the Lord and be at peace with the world. I am conscienceously ensuring uprightness but you never know. Our righteousness is like filthy rags in the eyes of the Lord; says the good book.
JKY is struggling to worship. He can be classified 'sinless' but he does not go to church, mosque nor fetish. I wonder how he worships the Lord. DA goes to church every Sunday but has a questionable charactor. God should have mercy on his creation. Those who visit his temple often, are those who do all the "BAD" things and those who manage sin are those who are too busy or lazy to go to his temple.
In this situation all we can say is, '...and while others you are calling, do not pass me by' because we are struggling to worship you either through our own life styles or some liberal or strict doctrine in our churches.
AMEN

AFTER THE PRESS CONFERENCE
After such a long break, it is proper to give my friends a run down of events during the break. A lot happened but the most interesting was the involvement in party business. Love for my nation, my party, my constituency, my village and my family is equivalent to the love for myself. You can infer by juxtaposing with your love for yourself. Unconditional love. A love that is unconditionally conditional and the condition is that, if you feel the love is too much, get out.
This is exactly what motivated me and comrades with similar qualities to start the Coalition for Responsible Leadership (CRL). Comrades Betty Crosby, Mutala Ibrahim, Adongo Jacob, Maxwell Buaka, Theresa Hajia Awuni, Idayatu Ayass and some senior comrades of our party the NDC. Fellows, Ayekoo.
The so-called Young Patriots have taken the Ghanaian electorate for a ride and disrespected the ruling National Democratic Congress for far too long. It looks as if the opposition NPP is rather in power. They insult any body who speaks to issues of national importance including the president and his vice. What is this?
The NPP and their allies churn out so much lies it is unbelievable. Sometimes, they make one feel the nation should halt because they are out of power. They manufacture figures and throw them out as the truth. They need rebuttals. They have their match now in the Coalition for Responsible Leadership; a group formed to give real facts, figures and their sources. Ghanaians need to be told nothing but the truth.
The press conference on the 14th September, 2011 was successful though it started a bit late. The statement was read by Jacob Adongo on braille and it was perfect. Optimum utilization of a great resource. No wonder he is vying for the Navrongo Central seat. In the statement, facts and figures were presented and the young patriots invited to step out for discourse or choose the path they have already chosen and face us squarely.
After the press conference, a lot of water has gone under the bridge including re-echoing the statement on radio through interviews and studio discussions. Most interesting was meeting the brother of Jacob in the Sena Radio 104.7fm studio from the NPP. Just like any other NPP member, Thomas speculates, insinuates and lies about everything in Ghana. He puts any information out there without caution. No wonder that is where he belongs. In any case, he was interesting debating.
We have a lot of activities lined up for the rest of the year to draw the attention of the electorate to the good works of His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills. He has worked hard and will continue to work even harder. Now it is time to involved in this crusade; brace yourself and wait to receive us.

BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE!
Beautiful girls or young women usually allow their beauty to eat into their heads. No wonder there was a saying in the past and now; "beautiful woman never stays with one man" Some ladies are keeping this saying sacrosanct and keeping multiple partners. There is another misconception on the minds of some young ladies from a part of the Eastern Region that their misconduct is a historical curse. In every rule there is an exception and such exceptions must be emphasized.
Where as most young men in the youth bracket and some outside that bracket think marriage is for men who do not value their freedom. Most women value marriage yet believe in 'you do me i do you.' Competing with men in multiple relationships. There are still women in this country who value marriage, their beauty, their partner and their friends. Such respectful and respectable women are scarce so when you come across one, pamper her, honour her and let her know she is a queen, special and will be protected all the time.
If you raise a child in a robbery prone community and he does not steal, he is a good child. In a radical environment of well educated, competitive, handsome looking and cash splashing young and old doctors, it takes only good training, perseverance and determination for a beauty like 'KANDISI' to stick to her partner. I am dedicating this piece to my beautiful friend and nurse; Kindness Laar. This is my birthday present to you.
During that friendly and harmless interview, he could not say what specifically the attraction was except to say that you were on the same floor at the hospital. You were not the only two there. I guess there were some other men and women on the block as well. Don't force me to say it was divine intervention or provision. Doctor, was it lust at first sight? Or you want me to say love of an innocent hard working nurse looking for the right man.
Men propose love based on lust; I am told. It takes the woman to keep the relationship together. Kindness had, has and will always have what it takes to keep John at home and at ease. She has shown it and I am proud of her, so is Adouglas. We are proud of you Kandisi. I am counting my words to be sure that toe is not fractured.
Research has shown that your hard work has paid and only death can seperate us. This is to wish you the worst of the year. I wish you the temptations of my enemy and the armour of my friend. I can not pretent there will be no competition but the road is clear. More grease to your joints. The stiffer competitions are yet to come. Douglas and me may even hate you for keeping our space and so will a lot of people including patients.
Brother, I spare you and wish you a rough year towards honouring my queen so that our contribution to this union will be appreciated. Hold your guns, you have no fighting to do. No rebuttals to put on air. Laar is a Yambah.

CONFIDENCE BUILDING; A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY
Youth is a circumstance you can't do anything about. The trick is to grow up without getting old. - Frank Lloyd Wright. I am putting this piece together without malice or disrespect to any elder or elders. I am trying to juxtapose what happened in a meeting on Friday with Frank's statement.
For the sake of this piece, let me use Kofi and Nartey. Description: Nartey is older than Kofi; Nartey is employed and Kofi is a student. In reference to a youth group, Kofi: I don't understand why a youth organizer should be above 30 years. Nartey: Youth is a state of mind. I see some link in these two statements. The link is rather opposite. Grow old and think youthful and be youth and think maturely.
Dictionary definition of youth is, a period when someone is young especially the period between being a child and being fully grown. (Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English). Question is when is one fully grown? It depends on where one finds himself. In a group where the average age is 60+ years, 40+ may be considered youth. In other jurisdictions, it is one's contribution that determines his status. It is unfortunate if one's age determines his state of mind without examination. He looks young so he is not intelligent; that is how some people think and talk.
What role does confidence play in the life of an individual? A lot; the success or failure of a person depends on his confidence. A confident person does not care if he is wrong sometimes. It is a learning period if you ask. That is not carelessness. Get your facts, be on top of issues and work with the facts. Where one backfires, it is proper to use it as a lesson than a suicide bomb. When you are confident, you can go places whether you are old or young; man or woman.
Confidence is mostly seen as arrogance in Ghana. Especially when one has age disadvantage, he is considered disrespectful. How you carry yourself, the kind of words you use and the combination all count. If it is misconstrued to be disrespect and arrogance, truth can not be hidden but if that is what you are; that is not confidence. Negativistic positivism is not right.
Who develops confidence in a person? Confidence building is a process from childhood. Home, school, friends, teachers and society. I changed Nana's school because at her first experience in recitation, she did not recite her Bible verse because there were many people. The teachers did not do enough and I heard of it late. In her new school, she was the first and loudest the first time because she was encouraged, assured and helped to practice. The next year, her new teacher did not add her because she gave her the option to be part or not to be and she chose not to be. I quizzed Nana and her complain was that, her teacher gave her friend a verse and a week later asked her if she wanted one. The 5 year old child felt disrespected and undermined so rejected the offer. I spoke to her to take it and she was perfect on the day. Her teacher is now her friend. This teacher would have destroyed the child's confidence to act in public. The school has created the environment but the teacher is sidelining some children. Why? Test the children and let them know why they are or are not part.
I always have an experience shared before and repeting or once for this instance. Takyi Mensah; my childhood mentor had a temple where we met every Wednesday to worship the creator. As children, there was a day for each to pray at the meetings and lead a song. My voice is bad as it was but he encouraged me and guided me to pray. My confidence at the time was high; no wonder I represented my school in quizes. I entered secondary school and hated singing completely. In front of the whole school, my Assistant Headmaster told me not to join the school at 'singing' meetings because I had no voice to sing. I loved the song he was teaching then. My school anthem "My Almamater, I praise and adore your name for all the good things thou hast done for us through the years gone by, Thou has been our fountain of knowledge and the foundation of the future and therefore we shall endear your dear oh ***** our dear, ***** 2x Hurray (the part I love still), Tole lege, ***** will win by hook or crook" What an anthem? I love the finishing bit. Win is important and it's a must.
My grand pa called me a talkative by saying; 'Kwame wo y3 nt3333n' (Kwame you talk too much). He admitted that I talked sense. There was this friend who was uncomfortable with the pitch of my voice. He will say; 'you are shouting' All these contribute to toning one's person. It makes you cautious and alert. It is good to be cautious and alert but remember too much of everything is bad. Loosen yourself, speak your mind and make a few mistakes.
Thanks be to God. There is a second chance to build your confidence where society did not help you do so early. Read books, ask questions, join clubs and societies, go out with friends, contribute in discussions and be ignored but don't ignore yourself. Life is good for the confident. Develop yours and help develop someone's confidence. Boost a friend's confidence, mentor someone, buy someone a book for confidence building is a collective responsibility in nation building.

OKADA, A CONVENIENT ILLEGALITY
Blessed weekend! A week after my 3x birthday, I have chosen to move away from partisan and communal politics for 48 hours. That sound funny I guess. Some wish I left for good whilst others wish I left for four years but 'sete waaaaa' it is only 48 hours. 12th September 2011, I will be back.
Motorbikes were not common in my area as a child until I went to Tamale in 1993. In Tamale, it was something else. That was the first time I saw a woman riding a motorbike. Oh no; don't call me bush. It is a fact. It was the first time I saw and experienced a passenger sit on the bike with his/her side towards the rider. It was 'front to back' all the time. My experinces were numerous but let me give you the last two. These are not extraordinary but they were my first time. 1. A woman riding a motorbike with a child tied at her back and carrying a load on her head. 2. A man riding a motorbike with a woman sitting behind him, carring a baby at her back; a sackful of something in front of the man.
I thought there were many motorbikes in northern Ghana until I entered Togo, Benin and Nigeria. Chaotic! In fact, the first time, I did not like the experience until I joined an Oshodi bound bus in Lagos. At the bus stop, I had to hop out because the driver wouldn't stop for the avoidance of park tickets. Having worked as a driver's mate in Ghana, hopping out of a moving vehicle was nothing to me. I already had enough experience to do so excellently but the traffic jam was beyond description. Bumper to bumper as some call it. Static traffic jam.
This experience woke me from my slumber. I begun to understand why the use of motorbikes as commercial transport was booming in Lagos. The fares were not different. Sometimes the motorbike was cheaper. In Lagos; as I experienced, transport fares varied based on what time of day and the traffic situation. Now, this is practiced in Accra where a Accra bound bus from Kasoa will load to SCC, then charge differently to Malam junction, then another to Kaneshie before Accra. In this instance, one pays about 100% more. In Lagos, if the fare is 30 Naira, it could go to 50 Naira or 70 Naira depending on the factors above.
The use of motorbikes for commercial transportation is illegal in Ghana but it is catching up very fast in almost every community. In Accra, it is fast, cheap and convenient. Akoto Lante to Tema station is GHc 1.00 using a motorbike. The same journey in a hired Taxi is Ghc 3.00 minimum. The motorbike meanders to reach earlier and charges lower. What is better than this? Gradually, people are beginning to enjoy the system. I travelled to Dzodze last weekend, it was booming. I have been to Aflao and it is there too, Keta, Anloga, Tapa Abotoase and Kpando. For Tapa Abotoase where I come from; why? you think anytime I mention my hometown it should be a boat disaster or something negative? We too, we dey biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii k3k3! the road to satelite communities like Ampehkrom, Kotokofe and others are so bad, the motorbike (OKADA) is the saviour.
In today's Ghana where 'trucks' are being registered in Vanderpuye's Millenium city, it is proper to have a look at the Okada business. My boy at Tapa Abotoase tells me he makes over GHc 2x for his master on a good day and Ghc 1x.00 on a bad day. These exclude his 'chobo'. It is taking some people off the streets, relieving some stress and enriching some others. Let us get this business formalized and put the youth into a controlled job environment. Register motorbike, legislate and let motorbikes be used for commercial transportation.
There is no doubt on my mind that anyone who uses Okada will use it again. It is convenient though illegal. Every person agrees on the illegality but its convenience makes it attractive. The state is loosing a lot of revenue from insisting that its commercial usage is illegal. The people are using it and the general citizenry is patronizing. Legalize Okada, get some revenue for the state and control the youth in the business.
Okada to me, is a convenient illegality. Legalize it and make it safe and even more convenient.
2. SURPRISE!
What surprises you on this planet? Oh what surprises you in Gh.? Do not let anything hit you by surprise or get to you as a surprise. Persecution, prosecution all happen for varied reasons but sometimes for selfish reasons.
Nana Kwasi Djan told me in a conversation that, "Most of the prisoners in the Nsawam prisons are innocent" Why? I asked him. "People can forge, malign and lie to fit a situation" He explained. I took this statement with a pinch of salt. Now, I can understand what he meant by his statement.
People punish others for all the wrong reasons. In the days of Christ, he was crucified. His crucifixion would have been avoided if his detractors knew it will make him this revered. For all things happen for good to them that believe in the Lord.
It happened before the death of Christ; remember? a woman was about to suffer death by stoning when Jesus appeared; He said, cast the first stone! If...... That was the biggest surprise to happen on earth. Not even one was able to cast the first stone because then all have sinned and fallen short of His glory. There is time for everything and each time will make its own provisions. Wait till we get there.
When they get there, do not be surprised because God has made things His own way. My prayer is for God to strengthen me enough to overcome surprises. I am not surprise. Do you have any surprises? Share with me.

SO I TOOK MY BIBLE
"So I took my Bible" Once at my work place as a young, energetic, enterprising and dynamic teacher, I wanted to use my idle hours to acquire some more knowledge; I informed my superior who thought it was an excellent idea so allowed me. Some of my colleagues were not happy with my decision and the subsequent agreement reached with my boss. They did not show any sign of disagreement so I felt all was well.
With continuous pressure, my boss queried me for using office hours to acquire personal knowledge that have no impact on our students. As an exuberant young man, I took my pen and replied her in anger. "After informing you of my action......" I went on and on. She was infuriated and said all manner of things but what I still remember so well was, "Anytime you have an annoying information, sleep or read your Bible"
In the last four weeks, text messages, calls and verbal information from family and friends about political opponents are so distasteful they demand immediate reply. Thank God at 3x years, I am analytic and advised. I receive the information, analyse and ignore. Sometimes, I discuss with some other family and friends; go to sleep or read a book.
I have said over and over again that, going into politics, I did not rule out names calling, maligning and recall of distorted facts. I was aware of all these before entering. They have started doing worse but I am prepared. I have no scary shadows. I am not prepared to rebut I do not have to.
Frankly speaking, half education is worse than no education at all. It can be likened to a half trained mechanic or a quack doctor. They are murderers. It is good to learn how to read and even better to learn to comprehend what you read. The best is to be sure your comprehension matches the idea of the communicator before transmitting same idea to some other person. Misinformation has led to tribal and civil wars. Information receivers should be careful because the messenger can intentionally change the message and the mood of the messenger can change the message.
Any person who wants to handle any position should be analytic. Acting on hear say and jumping into tantrums does not show good leadership. When I had the calls yesterday about the defamation, I sighed, called Theresa and Simon for a discussion not related to the issue just to reduce the reaction. Then I took my Bible. Not knowing where to open to, I flipped and landed on Issaiah 48:10-22. I was calmed enough to get a good sleep. thank God for that word.
Next morning, I took the same Bible and again the first flip took me to Habakkuk 1:1-5. My day was full of blessings and upliftment. Friends, anytime you are not sure, take your Bible because I took my Bible and it was fruitful.
Let me ask my question again; (you judge if this is an insult to anybody) 'imagine John Mensah tackling idle Dede Ayew in a Ghana versus Nigeria encounter when old Kanu has the ball. What will happen?' Simple, clear, basic english language. Primary logic! If Kanu and Dede are in the same team in any man's mind, so be it. If it is mischief too. God is watching.

LET ME TAKE YOU SOMEWHERE.........
We can all pretend to be who we are not. Even we can pretent not to be who we are. In this piece, pretend not to know what I am talking about and that will be fine by you and me too. Show me your friend and I will show you your character is true but not wholly true. Ask me why. It is because, 92% of my friends enjoy alcohol but I don't for at least 10years now. Emmanuel my graphic designer is not in any relationship at all though his friends are all married.
Another truth though debatable is, when a lizard promises you rash medication, look at its skin. Today, I have already posted "Happy Birthday and More" but let me bother you with this pressing piece that can not wait until tomorrow. A double dose this is but take it painlessly. This may benefit you in case you decide to chat the course I am taking.
About two years ago when I was certain that I will contest in the 2012 parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) {if He maintains my life and strength}, I visited one of the veterans of Ghana politics for wise counsel. The reception was good and the talk was long, detailed and well organized. One thing that was clear and repetitive was the discussion on 'prophesies' "It has not started yet but as the days draw near, people will come to you with false prophesies" I believe in prophesies and miracles so I took that part of his counsel as 'rubbish'
Between the day I went to him and now, I have counted about 100 prophesies. The shock is that none of the prophesies had come without a condition. In fact, the best prophesy of all was the prophesy of this veteran. It has come to pass as he put it. "Some will ask you for money, animals, drinks for rituals; don't rubbish them, give them...." Are you surprised, though I first rubbish his counsel in my head, it has been very helpful. Every person, delegate, non-delegate party executive, party sympathizer or opposition member is important. His advice was and is still relevant.
Normally, the request comes in two folds, the one that is direct and another indirect. Direct; "Master, this thing you want to do, you can not do it with your naked eyes ooo, I will take you somewhere for powers" Hmmmmmmm, if it is true and I respond to all direct requests, by this time, all my supporters will meet me and start running away because there will be a pot of fire on my head. lol! Indirect; "You, this thing that you have joined, hmmmm, do you have enough protection? You need some powerful support.....if you don't have anybody, I can get you somebody"
I did not ignored any of these requests. In all cases, I agreed and asked for permission to prepare. The variety is what makes the whole matter interesting. Mallams, Pastors, Prophets and Okomfo are all put together. I am not an angel, I have actually followed a few upon consultation for consultation but the stories were similar if not same. My God, a lot of things are happening behind close doors but GOD IS KING. I am putting my trust in Him. His will be done.
Prayer is the key. In all the three foiled destructive attacks, my contribution was zero. In the poisoning attempt, I was not at the church where the prophesy came. With the accident too, it was just by His grace but my car did not even enter a gutter. It was so close but I am moving on in His name. When they went to the fetish priests, I was not there and all three fetish priests do not know me even till date but they decided to consult before execution. "He is innocent" they were all told. I am tailless and only God wipes flies off me.
Brothers and sisters, say a prayer for me when you say one for yourselves. The spiritual attacks have failed so far. It will continue to fail. Watch them, they have started some physical attacks, I hear them all. Name calling is normal with some falsehood. Some of the attacks are unprintable. Me, Kwame Dennis a *** boy? Oh! There is a crack on my wall; how can I limit animal entry, spiders, lizards, ants, flies etc can all enter. Welcome to my world.
Those writings on buses and trucks when I was a commercial driver plying between Tapa Abotoase and Accra have flashed my mind. "It Is A Lesson" "With Jesus No Problem" "God Is In Control" "Wonderful Jesus" "Jesus Is The Answer" I will not pick these phrases one after the other but Lessons, I am learning. GOD, JESUS? Wonderful! I am going by this means.
The Lord is my shepherd..... Our father..... God bless our Homeland Ghana.....to resist oppressor's rule. I am strengthened by these enough but keep your requests coming. You: "Let me take you somewhere" Me: "Thank you, let me get some money"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MORE
Lessons from my 39th birthday can not be kept selfishly in my pocket. Sharing is nice, monopoly is bad. Hahaaa! I was glad I lived to see this day. Private Fynn is my witness, I remember stating in one of my write ups that I wanted to live on earth for just 32years. 7years on, I wish I did not think that way ever. Man proposes, God disposes. Nana Ama my sweet daughter is my after 'death' breed and a beautiful creation. Thank you Jesus.
Private Fynn was curious, wanting to know if I was serving a god or in a convenant with any powers. I have sworn to serve the Lord God to the best of my abilities. This I have tried to do and doing to the best of my ability. Lord protect and guide me to do according to your will. Psalm 34:4, 'I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears' Looking back, I can only say Praise be to His name, now and forever. Amen.
The birthday wishes came through various channels; text messages, emails, facebook wall and inbox, phone calls and personal hand shakes. Some were as brief as 'Happy birthday' encouraging as 'Happy birthday, may your wishes be fulfilled' annoying as, 'do not drink your head off today' All these, I accepted in good faith because a huge heart is what God gave me.
My daddy sent me a text message whilst my mum called. "A Happy prosperous aims and objectives well achieved years ahead of you" What else can a father wish his son? You know what? The man is asking for the setting of aims and objectives in my life. He might not know if I already have one but the birthday wish is directional. If you do not have aims and objectives, set some for the years ahead are aims and objectives well achieved years. If I do not have aims and objectives, the years will roll over me. Dad, thank you. I am grateful, honoured and privilleged.
Hahaaaa, Junior sent me a text after I could not answer his call; 'Happy birthday big bro, May all your dreams come true. Enjoy this day and identify God's plan for you' Dreams? My younger brother knows about dreams and thinks I should have some. Dreams fall in line with aims; thinks like dad huh? As religious as he is, he asked me to identify God's plans for me. My dreams may be different from God's plans for me. I guess if it is different, my task will be a difficult one but if it is same, easy task. Identifying the relationship between my dreams and God's plans for me is the most tiresome task. Bro, I have accepted the challenge to search and marry my dream and God's plans for me.
On Afia Schwarzenegar, a young lady met Delay, she told Delay; 'you look like a friend of mine, she is called Delay'. bla bla bla as though the Delay she was talking about was her friend. Truth is, the lady had never set eyes on Delay. Lessons? This supposed friend wants facebook friends to believe he knows me soooooo well he wrote " Happy birthday but do not drink your head off today" Thank God he has deleted this message from the wall. The fact that you come from the same town with someone does not mean you know him inside out. Ask questions, don't talk because people are talking, talk because you want to make sense.
My friends, I am grateful. You wished me well and remembered me on this day. Dreams, aims, objectives, desires, wishes, and all the messages you sent are acknowledged. May the Good Lord grant you all what you wish for me. Amen.

BROKEN GLASSES IN THE COMPOUND
On the 18th of July this year, I wrote on the reggae phrase, "if you live in a glass house, don't throw stones" This is old and loud. It does NOT require a Degree to understand that every person lives in a glass house and so should not throw stones. Be careful with yourself especially what you say; 'only excess thoughts come out of the mouth'
Not all persons have access to good counsel so when you are walking by a window and you hear someone being counselled, pause and pick a word. That word may guide you in future. Some person who claim to know best and older than Metusala did not see the wisdom in this advice and threw a stone. Sorry, not a stone you say? Okay, you mean he threw stones. No wonder there are so many broken glasses scattered in his compound. hahaha.
'God protects the tailess animal against flies'. In his stone throwing adventure, he displayed so much desperation he missed his target; broke all his glasses, covered his own compound, lost his slippers and can not come out of his room. His target has not thrown a stone. Is his target capable of throwing stones? Does his target live in a glass house? Will he survive stone exchanges? All these questions remain unanswered. Help me find answers to these questions but the most important question is, is that the way to go?
My attention was drawn to one Akoo Tapa on facebook today and the claims that he has bitten more that he can chew and that he has insulted some aspirants from Tapa. He has not done any of the two Tapa aspirants any harm but my worry is his display of cowardice. I do not see how any patriot, and intellect as he wants to portray himself will want to assume a feminine posture and facelessness in order to be able to state his mind. Talk is cheap, talk is free yet talk is rewarding (positive or negative reward). The reason for one not to talk because people are talking but to talk because there is a pressing point. Pressing points are created. It is an art. Art of reasoning. talk and be responsible for your talk.
What i find interesting in Akoo Tapa's contribution on Tapa Nkosuo is the fact that it will be better for Tapa to present one candidate in an NDC primaries, where there are two or more candidates from Tapa, they need to be decorous in their campaign and interaction with party executives. Does anybody need a change of name to state such a brilliant point? Absolutely not. It is good to state such a good point without fear or favour. I have said my bit. It does not pay to be a hypocrite.
At 39 years today, I have a lot up my sleeves to contribute to the growth and development of Biakoye. Posterity will surely judge every man's contribution to the growth or shrink of his society. I shall do what I have to do. No detractors, sycophants and/or hypocrites will stop me. I will not hang my gloves before thinking of my people. It requires a revolution to get the people where they ought to be. "Remember your creator in your youth" sayeth the Bible. I am remembering Biakoye when my service to the people is most needed.
I am prepared to join the stone throwers clean their mess. I have NOT and will NOT throw stones but The scattered broken glasses in their compound will hurt the stone throwers. I have a message for service. Instead of preaching destruction, my key is Matt 7:7. Whoever wants Proverbs 18;6 to apply should get ready.
Service by the youth, with the elderly to the people. What else will anyone expect? POSITIVE MISSION!!!

PURC, ECG, GWC; TARIFF ADJUSTMENT
One organization that has lived up to the task is the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC). It has so far been able to consistently determine whether it is right or wrong depending on the period and economic situation for utilities providers to increase their tariffs or not. In the first two quarters of 2011, it refused to permit any increase in the tariffs of electricity and water citing lack of quality service.
Thankfully, the PURC announced 7% and 6.72% increases in tariffs for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Ghana Water Company (GWC) respectively. The difference of 0.28% may appear little but speaks volumes. I asked if there was any justification for this tariff increase at all. The answer I gave to myself was yes but a NO also came later.
A presenter on Beposo FM said "for once, the ECG deserves a commendation for their consistency in power supply. It is early days yet but we need to praise good work" In my office at North Legon last week, a partner also commended the ECG for good work but right in the middle of the conversation, the lights went off and he said, "These NDC people hate praise. They are just worrying Agya Atta" lol! The YES at first but again that NO followed. With ECG, the yes is obvious. Testify!
Their ascertions made me alert to observe what is happening. It is true; ECG deserves the 7% increment. Power is more relable now than it used to be. Lights do NOT go off as often as they used to and where they go off, they do NOT stay off as long as they used to. Kudos ECG.
In the years past, water supply to my compound house in one of the towns on the Akuapem ridge was consistent though once a week (every Thursday). Now, the inconsistency is so consistent it is better to feel water will not flow when you expect or flow when you don't expect. Water supply is worse now than it used to be. Where my family lives, water is a scarce commodity. All the necessary infrastructure have been put in place but water simply does not flow. The reservoire here can supply the whole of Tapa (Abotoase, Amanya, Amanfrom and all satelite towns). Tapa is in the Biakoye District of the Volta Region of Ghana. Water is not supplied into this giant storage tank.
As if by design, the announcement of the tariff increase coincided with an accute water shortage in Sekondi. Hmmmmmmmmmm, only God knows why. Judging from these happenings alone, I will be right to say that the 6.72% increase on water tariff is NOT worth it but I have travelled wide over the few years and have seen massive infrastructural development in the water sector. This upgrade when completed will improve water supply. Future increases should strictly be based on improved service NOT 'will improve' service.
All the same, the PURC is doing well, more grease to their elbows.

TALKING FOR TALKING SAKE?
Talking involves conversation, saying words, speech delivery or serious subject discussion. What touches my heart most in the Contemporary English Dictionary is the definition of talk as "giving a sensible opinion about things". (Talk sense). Do not say anything if you have nothing to say.
Barima Takyi mensah; May his soul rest in perfect peace!!! My mentor in the 80s punished me anytime I insulted or made irresponsible statements. He however did not forget to praise brilliant statements and actions. During lent, if I was able to fast to 6pm, I was given a full fowl and 2pm for two days, I had a fowl as well. One thing he asked me to learn to do is to shut up if I had nothing 'sensible' to say. "Where you have to talk at all cost, make sure your statement makes you more friends than enemies". He used to say.
Looking at his advice from hind sight, I still see the wisdom in what he told me. At a point, youthful exuberance made me throw some of his pieces of advice to the 'dogs' and paid for it dearly. He taught me to pray every morning before stepping out, I forget and face a bad day; he taught me to abstain from alcohol, I ignored that wise counsel and nearly died. I have no intention to brush his direction to stay mute if I have no idea or my idea will hurt untruthfully.
The art he said is; if you want to make statements that hurt, it should not be immediate. Make the statement alright, but the one it hurts should move away from where the statement was made before feeling the impact. That is the situation where you make a statement for people to clap and 30 minutes later, someone calls to say why did you have to do that to me. This same complainant would have given you a hand shake at the point you made the statement.
It will be sickening for anybody to say, feel or think that for the above quality, I am a coward, reserved or a hypocrite. I am not comfortable if I have to blow my own trumpet. Bring it to me and I will deliver. My most scary moment is when I have to dance because I am not good at it at all. I still dance because I have seen people whose dancing steps are worse than mine. This is not to say that because people talk for the sake of talking, I will follow suit. I will continue to talk from my head and heart.
Biblically, what comes out of one's mouth is an overflow of what is on the mind. No one deserves pardon if not for the use of a human face for making a senseless statement. We all pardon because we all make mistakes. The forgive us our tresspasses prayer and its condition, as we forgive our tresspassers. The major reason for pardoning loose talking.
Have a great day folks and remember before you open your mouth to talk especially, talk sense, make sure the statement has gone through the mill (your brain). Talk is cheap but cheap talk is more expensive than a well thought of talk. Hey guys, forget those loose speeches, hahaha they were the times we tested impact of ignorance. I have also forgiven your loose talk.
